Olebiker Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 If they start messing with Amber Bock I may have to whup some Belgian butt. Quote
Aaron Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I hope they don't mess with any of the beers. There are few drinks I like as much as fresh draft Budweiser. I also like the Amber Bocks and Killian's (I think that is an AB beer). I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing less Bud sponsorships in the future. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 14, 2008 Super User Posted July 14, 2008 I don't think they bought the company to change the beer. : Quote
fishbear Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Killians is made by Coors. Budweiser is an American Icon Company. They will not screw with what has worked so far, they want to make more money. Quote
fishbear Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I do wonder if this will affect the Superbowl commercials though..... :D Quote
basspro05 Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I drank my last budweiser, time to start supporting the local microbreweries, I am sick of sending my money overseas. Quote

Then how do you live? Everything you buy evening the clothes you are wearing are all from oversea. There's no such thing as National Businesss it all International. Quote
daviscw Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I drank my last budweiser, time to start supporting the local microbreweries, I am sick of sending my money overseas. I'll bet all of your fishing gear and taclke is made in the USA! : ;D Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted July 14, 2008 Super User Posted July 14, 2008 Will someone clarify this for me? Did the two companies merge or did they buy Anheuser Busch completely out? Quote
ValkyrieRider Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Basically the Busch family owned very little of Anheuser-Busch and the foreign company offered 70 bucks a share to the shareholders to purchase a majority. It's a shame, St. Louis suffers another great loss.... Quote

I'll bet all of your fishing gear and taclke is made in the USA! : ;D I support U.S. owned companies when I can. You might not be able to find an American TV or a decent American made reel, but you can certainly find plenty of good, quality, American made (and owned) beers. A-B was a great employer for St. Louis, they paid well and were generous in the community. InBev has a reputation for cutting workers. (cue patriotic music here...) I, too, plan to search for a new American brew. It will be an exhaustive journey that may take months, or even years of painstaking research, but as God is my witness, I will once again find the perfect American Beer! USA! USA! USA! Quote
basspro05 Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 That is whats wrong with this country everyone seems to have given up, I still search for products made in America, of course you are right I still have to purchase some foreign made products, but if everyone took the extra initiative to purchase American products you could help alot of American workers. Sam Adams is probably my beer of choice now after I do some more research and make sure they truely are an American company. I can not purchase all American products, but my Falcon rods, my New Balance shoes on my feet, my redwing boots, my carhartt jacket, my Klein tools, and every other American product I purchase keeps American people, your neighbors, at work. If everyone would start checking tags and looking for a country of origin, maybe spending a few extra pennies, this country would still have some of its pride. Im sure I am going to get a bunch of crap for expressing my opinion, but I want whats good for my neighbors and myself. Just my 2 cents. Quote

The tag on my Redwing boots says made in china, I thought too I was buying american but was sadly disapointed. Not to many things we buy anymore that isn't made somewhere else. I have many thoughts as to why we are in the shape we are in but won't go there. Quote

Redwing sells Chinese shoes under the Irish Setter, Vasque, and Worx Brand names. Quote

Super User burleytog Posted July 15, 2008 Super User Posted July 15, 2008 That swill needs to be dumped in the toilet. Gimme a hint. Which beer are you talking about? All forms of Budweiser. If given a choice between Budweiser or no beer at all, I'll take no beer for $2000 Alex. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 15, 2008 Super User Posted July 15, 2008 WOW! The most popular beer in the world. I wonder how that happened? : Quote

rondef Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I have been drinking Budweiser for almost 30 years and I must say I am exteremly disappointed that Anheuser-Busch sold out to InBev. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted July 15, 2008 Super User Posted July 15, 2008 Okay, that's a reasonable point, but let me describe the best beer I ever tasted: Grant's Farm in St. Louis has a beer garden. The Budweiser is delivered daily and served fresh, "Born On Day". Regardless of what is left over in a "fresh" keg, it's thrown away and new beer is served the next day. Fully aged, but never stored. 8-) Quote
