weknowhowtolive Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Did anyone else get this in the mail? I thought I won something and then I open it and its some book that they want me to pay money for + shipping? Pretty weak. Quote
Troutfisher Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Yeah, I got that about 2 years ago. They wanted me to "borrow" it and send it back (at my cost for shipping), or pay the money for the rest of the stuff. If you didn't request it, it's yours to keep. I just kept the book and didn't buy their other stuff. They hounded me for weeks and weeks wanting it back, but I didn't give it back, considering I didn't even ask for it. Quote
weknowhowtolive Posted July 5, 2008 Author Posted July 5, 2008 Yeah I dont like getting stuff sent to me with them expecting me to send it back. Quote
toolpush Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 And what are we ever to do with that coin? The bait monkey won't even take it. ;D Quote
weknowhowtolive Posted July 5, 2008 Author Posted July 5, 2008 Yeah, love that coin...looks like a slammer for pogs or some junk. Is it even illegal for me to just keep the book? Quote
Super User Tin Posted July 5, 2008 Super User Posted July 5, 2008 Is it even illegal for me to just keep the book? I have books from years ago and never sent them anything. But I need to do something because I'm now number 2 on the FBI's list behind Osama. Quote
Super User Sam Posted July 5, 2008 Super User Posted July 5, 2008 Anything you receive via the United States Postal Service that is unsolicited is yours to keep. I don't remember being sent any book or coin. What are the details? Quote

What are the details? I believe you are correct on the unsolicited materials. I think it gets tricky when the club you are a member of sends something. I received and kept the books and coins a couple of years ago without paying and didn't get too much guff from BASS. I told them I didn't ask for them and wasn't paying for the return. They told me to keep them as gifts. Quote
weknowhowtolive Posted July 6, 2008 Author Posted July 6, 2008 I dont wanna tick off BASS but I dont wanna go to the post office to send this thing back. The book is a series of books called the ultimate fishing library or something like that. It looks decent, but I'm not paying for it. The coin is just some dumb metal coin with a bass on it. its MINE TO KEEP! even if I dont send the book back Quote
