Yeah, I got that about 2 years ago.  They wanted me to "borrow" it and send it back (at my cost for shipping), or pay the money for the rest of the stuff.  If you didn't request it, it's yours to keep.  I just kept the book and didn't buy their other stuff.  They hounded me for weeks and weeks wanting it back, but I didn't give it back, considering I didn't even ask for it.

Is it even illegal for me to just keep the book?

I have books from years ago and never sent them anything. But I need to do something because I'm now number 2 on the FBI's list behind Osama.

Anything you receive via the United States Postal Service that is unsolicited is yours to keep.

I don't remember being sent any book or coin.

What are the details?

I believe you are correct on the unsolicited materials.  I think it gets tricky when the club you are a member of sends something.  I received and kept the books and coins a couple of years ago without paying and didn't get too much guff from BASS.  I told them I didn't ask for them and wasn't paying for the return.  They told me to keep them as gifts.

I dont wanna tick off BASS but I dont wanna go to the post office to send this thing back.

The book is a series of books called the ultimate fishing library or something like that. It looks decent, but I'm not paying for it. The coin is just some dumb metal coin with a bass on it. its MINE TO KEEP! even if I dont send the book back
