Just a heads up, I finally figured out that a major appliance or vacuum, ect. is not a cool gift for most women, including my wife. If I were to get a tool or something I could use around the house that was top of the line, I would give my wife a big thank you but instead I usually get a cool something gadget that collects dust like a dart board, universal remote or a T-shirt. I am not venting, I just thought she would think it was cool to have a Dyson. She just took our old broke down Hoover out to the trash, put the new one in closet and never said a word.

I did get a chance to take this $500 marvel for a test drive yesterday and let me tell you this thing sucks just as hard as my garage shop vac. I don't know if its worth $500 bucks but I never knew how dirty my carpet was until I bought one of these things.

With all due respect, I can't believe you thought that was a good

idea ;D   I hope you have a real comfy couch.

Don't you know that most women would rather have something that is non-practical like a piece of carbon that has been compressed for millions of years and sold by a company that manipulates the available supply to lead the consumer to believe that there is a shortage of the product thus greatly increasing its value and percieved worth ::)

I bought a Dysin Animal for my wife 2 years ago mothers day. I now know that things like vaccumes and cleaning supply's are defenately not the thing to buy for mothers day!! Iv caught crap from everyone in my immediate family since. Actually I think I bought it for her more for myself cause I thought it was cool and that I wanted to play with it. It defenately cleans the carpet on my TR-186 Nicey nice. hahaha ;D

What does she need a Dyson for?  Do you have carpet in the kitchen?  Seriously though, I bought my wife a Dyson a year ago and she loves it, almost as much as I do.  Good luck.

My wife wants one too

But I don't think I would give it as a gift,ie birthday, anniversary,holiday

I would come home, dirt covered and track dirt all through the house

Then when she hits the roof go out to my truck get the dyson and not let her use  it

I feel she would appreciate it more

I will let you guys know how that works out for me

guys guys guys.... we all have done it so lets save the young uns some aggravation.  NEVER EVER EVER buy your lady a present with an electrical cord... I fell for the "I want a vacuum for mother's day" gag.... I got her what she asked for and I still hear about it... and this was 10 years ago.. I REPEAT...NEVER EVER buy your lady something with an electrical cord for a gift...  :-/

Guys, I get where you are coming from, but I've bought my wife vacuum's, household gadgets, kitchen appliances, etc. for years on Mother's day/birthday, Christmas, etc and she's thrilled with them.  But my wife is different.  She's NOT into jewelry and clothing like alot of women.  Anything that can help make her life easier she sees as a gift. I guess I'm really lucky to have a "common" wife in this sense.
