ian515 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 for those west coasters drinking alaskan amber and summer ale....you have NO idea how luck you are to live in a place that stocks that stuff. amber is my ALLTIME favorite, and I got spoiled being from the place that brews it. now I am stuck in the midwest, and everyone here refuses to order it for me. so I have to wait till I go to the parents new place in portland to get some. MAN I miss that stuff. kokanee (or high life) is the great "during a hard day of playin" beer. but amber is the "AFTER a hard day of playin" beer. if you feel like hookin a brother up, send some ambers this way man!! ;D Quote

I feel fortunate, cause it's 6.99 for a 6 pack at the store I work at. ;D Quote

AnthonyRSS Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Free beer. I like about any beer, the type depending on the mood. I like a Sapporo with sushi, a porter or stout with a steak, and Corona for sitting at the beach. There is a local joint here with over 100 beers in stock, and they don't have any cheap beers. Still don't understand how people can like the cheap macrobrewed American pilsners that give beer a bad name. Its just flavorless. On a hypocritical note, I have been known to kill some MBL. Cause if you are gonna go cheap, get the cheapest. Just like tap water! Anthony Quote
Olebiker Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Still don't understand how people can like the cheap macrobrewed American pilsners that give beer a bad name. Its just flavorless. Anthony For a number of years I avoided the big name American beers because I kept reading comments like yours and didn't want to be perceived as having no taste. I was recently served a Budweiser and really liked it. I have decided to drink what I like and not worry about what anyone else thinks. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted May 20, 2008 Super User Posted May 20, 2008 I agree Ole Biker, there is a bit of snobbery when it comes to some beer drinkers. Quote
JiggaMan512 Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Alaskan Amber Corona Extra i'll say it, M G D !!! "To each his own", 4Bizzy but... WHHHHATTT!!!!!! You sir, live (in my opinion) in THE best beer state in the country, and MGD????! thats kinda... awesome. i personally can't stand Frat waters (aka: bud light, coors, miller, mgd) but thats whats great about personal opinions. If i may suggest one thing.... When i first turned 21, like 5 years ago, i had already been buying the "everyday" beers with a fake i.d. for a looonnnng time. So, after turning 21, i was like "this is just like when i was 17-20! so i made a goal to NEVER buy the same exact beer twice, until it was almost impossible for me to buy a a beer, cuz i'de tried em all. Some i loved, and of course, some were disgusting. but it is the best way to broaden your hops horizon, and you will actually start to subconciously attach a particular beer to a specific memory (time, place, who you were with, what you were doing) which is actually pretty cool. like i said, i totally respect everyones opinion, on ANY topic. oh yeah..... i have ALOT of favorite beers, so, IF i had ONE beer to drink for the rest of my days... it'de be.. Samuel Smith Nut Brown Ale.. hmm.. Quote

Budweiser, the most popular beer in the world, is a lager. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Budweiser_%28Anheuser-Busch%29 8-) Quote
AnthonyRSS Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Breweries now use the terms "lager" and "Pilsner" interchangeably, From that posted article. Its not that I don't drink them, I just don't understand how they can be someone's favorite. There is a milron beers out there; try them all. And if any of yall are down this way, give me a hollar and I'll buy you a beer. Anthony Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Cheap beer, and what I drink 90% of the time: Miller Lite, bottle. Otherwise it's usually a variety of Sam Adams (Octoberfest, Winter, Summer, or just the standard Boston), or whatever the house brew is. I like to experiment. With beer, that is. If I could find it in the States all I would drink would be Imperial, the Costa Rican national beer. Man is that stuff delicious. Quote
srv1990 Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 My everyday beer is the King... but for a change I like Bass Pale Ale (including a Black and Tan) and Blue Moon, and if I'm really wanting to splurge I'll go for a Chimay or Orval, both excellent Belgian Trappist Ales. Quote
jasone Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 The original Sam is the still the best. Awesome with a nice plate of fish and chips. Flat Tire is pretty good stuff too. Stone IPA is good for an IPA. Sour stuff though and not really my cup of tea (or beer). Bud Select for everyday drinkage. J Quote
wowyo Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Beamish Young's Double Chocolate Stone's Imperial Russian Murphy's Guinness But my everyday is an ice cold High Life. Quote
