Why does the sticky on this subject now show that Glenn was the last poster, when, in fact, it was Muddy?

Because Muddy deleted his profile. It automatically bumps it to the previous one for some reason.

I just went back and checked it and that's not the reason. It is probable a little bug.

He deleted his profile again?  Man, why would he just haul off and do that?  That makes like the 2nd or 3rd time he's done it...

Gosh, now even stranger things are happening with the stickey.  All threads from April 6th have disappeared.  Could it be Gremlins?

D**N, Muddy said he wasn't going to do that AGAIN :(...

Black helicopters

Grassy knolls.

Honestly, the post count thing has been removed, why not eliminate the ability for people to delete their account?

I've been on quite a few forums over the years but I've never seen anything like this.

I believe Muddy as many people do above the 45yr old water line struggles a little with vision issues.

Muddy would probably be the first to tell you that computer technology is also not his strongest suit at times.

Sooo let me get this straight...

If you delete your profile then all topics you start or replies you have made dissapear???

No, your posts stay, your name just has ex-member by it.

That seems to create more problems around here than the post count deal.

So let me address this directly.

When somebody deletes their profile, they do it for 2 reasons:

1.  To disrupt the forums and "make a statement"

2.  To call attention to themselves.

I don't think it's helpful to entertain this selfish act, as it encourages others to do the same.  I won't allow the harmony of the membership to be disrupted by one member who is thinking only of himself.  Therefore, I removed the most recent posts of said member to mitigate his efforts for attention, and to nullify the "statement".  I also removed posts concerning his act for the same reasons.

I did this because the mods and I have recieved numerous complaints from members about the endless, mindless bickering that's happened around here in recent months.  People are tired of the drama, and frankly, so am I.

I also removed the "delete user" button from the profiles to prevent this from ever happening again.

Thanks Glenn and moderators, I appreciate it.

Neither do I!   ;D

I probably skip over 98.5% of all threads posted on this board so it's not unusual I guess.

What just blows me away is the constant animosity from some posters here.  Like I said, I've been a member of many forums, mostly OW racing forums over the years.  With the CART/IRL split in that form of racing, to say those forums could get nasty is an understatement.  Yet it was rare for folks to walk away from a forum and try and make a statement doing it, in fact, if you did you were generally laughed at.

Geez, this is a fishing forum for goodness sakes.   ;D
