 Ok this could be funy, a great way to pick up some ideas, or embarassing or all 3.

What do you do to save a few bucks?

At work I eat out only once per week. I save what's left over from a $20 and stock pile to buy fishing gear

We will re-fill water bottles and use 2 or 3 times ea

( mainly feel bad for the landfill mountains )

For car liscense plates I mail it in to the state. I don't need to pay another $5 to a bank to hand me a sticker

Car insurance - I try to pay the full year premium so you don't get dinged with the $5 every time for splitting up the payments.  x 4 or 5 vehicles and it starts to add up

Eat out less while at work, i spent 40 dollars on Chinese food and hot wings last week  :-/. Drive slower and don't take off as quick so i can save gas.

Bought a space heater this yr for $40, made my elec bill go up $20/month but cut me from the heating system in my house that was running me $200/mo

Avoid the Yamamoto and Lucky Craft priced brand names, I ain't buyin' into all that...

Buy cups and lids and make your coffee (for the road) at home (couldn't seem to get a decent cup anywhere else anyway)

Marry rich

Fish elec only lakes (no boat or gas bill)

Buy a 4 cyl car

Fired the maid, being in a studio apartment,...,,I really didn't need her, I just kinda liked the uniform.......

I am not cheap with my hobbies, but with everything else I am.

Coupons don't look like much, but it adds up. So I use those when I can. While most of my co-workers eat at the restaurant at work, I carry my trusty cooler stocked with food from home. We rarely eat out. Maybe once in 3 weeks. No movies, alcohol, tobacco, or digital cable. Store brands are just fine for everything except soda. Coca-cola only for me. I have a Bass Pro Shops rewards Visa, that gets used for gas, groceries, bills where I can, and incidentals. Again the little rewards add up. over 50 bucks so far this year.   I of course do not carry a balance on this card, or any of my cards, as this is a terrible waste of money. I have work shoes from payless that cost less than 20 bucks, and 5 pairs of Dockers that I'll wear until the bottoms get stringy. Yeah, I'm a cheap bas***d, but when it comes to my hobbies, I don't mess around. I'll still look for deals, but they will certainly not be some off brand, or sub standard item.

Do and buy things right the first time ..... it's much cheaper in the long run.  Even if it cost an extra $ or two initially.

I cut coupons and buy the local zoo coupon book.  The zoo coupon book cost about $25 but it has lots of useful coupons in it, like gas $48 in gas coupons.

I also buy a lot of tackle a Dicks when they have a sale.  Like this week they had Rapalas, Gamakatzu, and most soft plastic 20%.  They also have a spend $50 and get $10 off coupon in the Indiana DNR book.  So I was able to pick up some Rapala DT for $4.48 and some Senkos for $3.84 a pack.

Yup ! and further to the south it gets even cheaper.  

Filled The Feechin Machina 's gas tank, 70 liters ( 18 gals aprox ), total 500 pesos ( 45 US aprox ) = 2.50 US / gal. Not bad taking in consideration that the fuel economy of The Feechin Machina is not measured by MPG ( Miles per gallon ) but by GPM ( Gallons per mile )  .

Plenty of horsepower in that engine  , only problem is that all them horses are really thirsty !

Hey Bob,

Instead of Dockers, you can buy the St. John's Bay stain repel/wrinkle free pants for under $20 at Penney's. Cheaper than that are the Austin pants at Academy for $14.99 a pair. I'll wear them out in about 6 months, about the same as a $30 entry pair of Dockers. This alone probably saves me close to $150 per year.

*Another tip is to NEVER pay full price for anything unless you have to (especially clothing; the mark-up on clothing is tremendous).

Well with my savings plan I have paid off 20K in debt over the last year... now the hard part is not putting it all back on when I get out of here...

I buy a lot of on the water snacks and drinks in bulk.  You pay roughly $2 for a Gatoraide at the gas station but at Sam's you can get 16 for much less than you could buying them one at a time at the lake.  Also snacks!  I bought a 48 pack of peanut bars for $10 at Sams (instead of paying .89 each).  It all adds up when you are on the water every weekend.

I pay it off twice a month so I don't have to pay any interest.  I have to travel some in my job so I actually make money by using this card rather than the one my employer gave me.

I heard of a guy using a "point producing" credit card to buy Wal-mart cards for gas (Shopping cards get 3 cent discount).  All totaled, he was saving up to 10 cents a gallon.

I try and get my relatives to give me BPS gift cards for everything, then buy on sale and look for stuff on craigslist that is a good deal.  Just recently I struck this deal.

I bought a very very very like new Symetre off of craigslist for $45.  This thing was a year or two old, but spotless.  I had a $40 gift card and a $10 off coupon for BPS.  They had their extreme spinning rods on sale for $60, normally $100.  I used the coupon and and the gift card which enabled me to get the rod for $10 + tax out of pocket.   That is a $180 rig for $55.  

Made homemade archery targets, cost me $0.  I got bulk grass seed bags from local coop, stuffed with old rags, clothes that were destined for giveaway, plastic shopping bags.

I made two of them for no $$ out of pocket and they stop the arrows with ease.  I can pull my arrows out with two fingers no sweat.  

I cruise wal-marts clearance isle almost everytime I go in there.  Gently used from garage sales and craigslist can save you lots of $$.

Make a little extra for dinner and save it for lunch the next day.

Right there with ya on the leftovers. AAlmost always enough for luncjes 4 days per week.

I think the Walmart wierdo salesman practicaly knows me by name.

 When we out its 4 of us ( sometimes 5 ) for $20 or it doesn't happen. We can have Taco Bell and have $7 or $8 leftover. Not the healthiest though.

 Change my own oil sometimes but getting harder despite the law to find a place to take the oil. Change my own air filter and maybe plugs.

 Coupons for the grocery store.

I'll drink water at a resteurant. Six of us did that at the Cheesecake factory once and it saved us $25 just in drinks!

     That saves me tons of money when we go out to bars. I can't believe the amount of money people will drop on drinks at the bar

I also brew my own coffee and ice tea at home and bring it with me, no starbucks or Dunkin Donuts for me.

By the way for those who like dunkin donut's coffee, you can buy new england coffee beans at the grocery store. it's the same company just with a different bag. 8 bucks for a bag of D&D, or 3 or 4 for New England Coffee
