I was thinking about changing my old school ways a little, and this gun caught my eye.

Beretta Brigadier Elite in 40S&W (I'm not sure if its the IA or the II) its the one with the stainless barrel and skelatonized hammer.

Anyone owns or has shot one, just looking for opinions.I tried googling reviews but didn't come up with much.

thanks jim

I've never fired or even held a Brigadier. But I've owned three 9mm 92FSs (2 blued, 1 stainless) and two .380 Cheetahs (all Italian made). The 92FSs had about the smoothest slides I've ever felt on any gun, custom or not. And the open slide design is ultra-reliable. Recoil was very manageable. I had Trijicon tritium sights on one of them. I don't know what I can say about them except they are exceptional guns, meticulously finished, and super reliable. Mine all had decockers, which I liked. You can't go wrong with a Beretta.

The ONLY thing I don't like is the .40 S&W round. It's a high pressure round and cna accelerate wear on your gun if you shoot a lot. I'm partial to the .45 ACP.

I guess the Brigadier models have heavy slides, and were designed for sport shooting. They are also a little shorter than the standard 92/96 Berettas.I cant really find much as far as reviews online for that model, everything else and in between but not that one.

I can get a good deal(I think) on the gun $450 in the box with 3mags,its used, but not much.I never owned a 40 I'm kind of a 45 guy myself.

Nice gun.  Is that the actual gun you are considering buying?  I like the Houge grips.

Never really liked Beretta but 40sw is a great round. I have an HK in that caliber.

Ditto that.  Also have a 45acp

I use to own a 92fs in 9. I really didnt like it.  Just wasnt my kind of gun.  I prefer my HK's.
