Tokyo Tony Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,352058,00.html First thing I thought was that they shouldn't have taken a tarpon that big out of the water...nevertheless, a nice catch 8-) Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted April 22, 2008 Super User Posted April 22, 2008 Bush chose to release the giant with an estimated weight of around 135 pounds -- the largest tarpon the 84-year-old ex-president has ever caught, the agency reported. The boat on which he was fishing had a legal harvest tag. In place of the fishing trophy, a fiberglass reproduction mount will be commissioned to hang in the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library at Texas A&M University. Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted April 22, 2008 Author Posted April 22, 2008 I know it was released, but it could be harmful to take a tarpon that large out of the water. I can't believe that Bush Sr. is already 84 - and catching 100+ pound tarpon. I'm pretty sure if I live that long I'll be an invalid. Quote
Hookem Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 A front page story if ever I saw one. ;D btw B1, nice fish. 8-) Quote
IneedAnewScreenName9886691 Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Fishing with A.Mills nonetheless! Who I think his Tarpon rep is larger than his skiing one! Have you seen his show...Chasing Silver. Great photography, music and overall one of the most well put together fishing shows I have ever seen! Congrats to Bush Sr! Quote
