I took piano lessons for 9 years, drums since I was like 12, recently I've picked up the fife (really fun) and now I'm teaching myself the banjo. (my favorite so far)

Making your own music sure is jolly good fun. How bout it, folks?

I took piano for a few years. My parents are making me take trumpet (I'm not too happy 'bout that.)  Now I'm teaching myself Guitar, it's definatley my favorite!!!

I was a great trumpet player in highschool.  Before my band teacher made me choose between fishing or the trumpet, I'm guessing you all know what I picked  ;D

I learned to play the guitar at 16 and was a classical guitar major at Southeastern Louisiana University. Recorded an album in 1979 (yep, vinyl LP) Made my living playing for a while in the 70s. Arthritis has ruined my hands and I can't play anymore, but I have some awesome memories of performing for crowds of thousands and recording in a 24 track studio.

Not a band, just my partner and I with a couple of acoustic guitars. We played some college circuits in Louisiana & Mississippi, had a regular gig in our college town. Played at a lot of churches and Christian rallies in the New Orleans area. Mostly contemporary Christian, lots of folk with some light rock & blues. Had a grand time in those days. I miss it!

Alpster, so very cool you are a clasical guitarist. To me classical guitar is one of the hardest techniques to master. I had no idea. Sorry to hear of your arthiritus - nothing cuts a career shorter than that and tendonitis.

Me, I was once a semi-professional bassist. Played about everything from Classical to classic rock and theater to thrash (early years) and all in between.

My Guitarsenal. The upright is a 3/4 Czech carved top. But, my pride and joy is my custom made Rocsoe 5-string in the middle. The first time I saw that "bass" it was a chunk of wood with the bark still on it. Keith Roscoe makes and awesome bass!!!! Exclusive SWR user.

Hey Fisher,

I led the Worship Team at our church for several years and enjoyed it more than I can tell you. Became an elder and had to get out of the way and let someone else step into that role. I still love to sing and work in the drama ministry. More pulpit teaching than anything else these days. Life is GOOD!

Well check out this Youtube of RASHAAN ROLAND KIRK, he played mutli instrumentaition, here he plays a flute and a recorder( out his nose ) at the same time. I once saw him blow an Alto and Soprano sax at the same time, and his tonation was perfect. He died in 1977

Hey, Ronnie, like you, I have a lot of good memories.  Most recently I spent some time as part of a "traveling" praise and worship band doing music festivals and conferences.  Tried to make a run at Nashville as a Christian session bassist but that dream passed me by.  Play at Church once in a while and an occasional gig/album.  

I miss playing tremendously, as I am sure you do.  My wife will tell you music is my first love.  But, my time now is spent at home with her and my little girl.  Like you said, LIFE IS GOOD.

Percussion. I don't play mcuh now but for 8 years I played in school learning all the marching instruments, concert instruments and drum set. About the only percussion stuff I can't really play are the keyboard instruments like the vibes or xylophone. In highschool I played in the Gator Bowl half time show and the Tournament of Roses Parade (first band from Chicago). That was one long parade. We also got to play outside Lincoln Center with just a light snow.
