fishing man Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 i have the worst luck this year, heck you can call it a curse. every time i get a hit while bass fishing, something will happen. like today i was fishing a rip rap with a chatterbait and i get a hit go to set the hook and my foot slides on some mud and my foot goes straight in the water. the other day i was fishing and my brother called me right when i answered my phone i get a hit so i throw my phone and i fall at the same time. there are more but those have to be the funniest/worse. and i blame this curse for the reason i haven't caught my first bass of 2008 yet. Dean Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Don't give up ever, and keep a possitive attitude. Try throwing a different lure, on a spot you wouldn't normally fish, ya know mix things up a bit. Good luck, and always take it one fish at a time. Quote
fishing man Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 o i will NEVER give up on fishing i love it to much,im out there everyday fishing no matter curse or no curse. lol. Quote
rondef Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I hear ya, I have had days like that to. Just keep throwing them baits and it will pay off soon. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted April 13, 2008 Super User Posted April 13, 2008 lol, I mean, that sucks, but it's kinda funny if you think about it. I had a friend who I would take fishing and it seemed like he would only get bit RIGHT as his phone was ringing. It was like good luck or something because it would ring and he would start reeling a fish in as he was talkin... In all seriousness, if you are really concerned about it, just be more careful for pete's sake! Watch where you step and make sure you have a good grip on your phone and rod when you talk while fishing... Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted April 13, 2008 Super User Posted April 13, 2008 Bill Dance would be proud of you. Quote
Big-O Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 You're getting tuned up for the "BIG ONE". Just settle down and next time you're fishing, take a moment to notice the serenity and natural wonders around you. Then think about how wonderful it is to have the freedom and ability to spend your time doing what you love to do as much as anything in the world. Done You have just set things in motion to go your way, kissed lady luck, aligned the stars, found the four leaf clover. It's not only a positive mental state that you attain, but more importantly an appreciation for what so many of us take for granted. "The opportunity to fish" Now, not only will you catch fish but you will enjoy the experience much more as well. Let us know about your next outing! www.ragetail.com Quote

XcoM274 Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 NEVER FAILS: This is a principle of Bass Fishing: Let all heed! When you have been fishing for a minimum of 3 hours without a bite, your phone will ring and you will answer. While you are on it, a fish will hit. You will miss the strike. Honestly though, I've wondered if being on a phone has something to do with fishing. Perhaps an ultrasonic vibration or electric current that transfers from you through the line into the water? I know its waaay out there but when it happens and you're on the water you have a lot of time to think about it... Quote
