jasone Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Zeppelin CCR Hendrix Beatles Dylan George Thorogood Floyd AC/DC Beck Radiohead Hendrix isn't a band!! ;D Just kidding. All Along the Watchtower is my favorite song ever. I like both versions but like I've always heard, Dylan redone is better than original Dylan. Writes great songs but only sings them well. J Quote
Guest muddy Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Of all of Jimi's Line ups my favorite was Billy Cox on Bass and Mitch Mitchell on drums. That line up on VOODOO CHILD REVISITED, with Jack Cassidy on Bass and Stevie Windood on Organ made one great recording!!!!!!!! I wish he would have toured with them :-/ Quote

I've been waiting my entire life to see this guy, as he doesn't tour much. We got great seats too. I can't wait; Stevie Wonder is one of my all-time favs. Quote

The good seats really sweeten the deal. Heck, I'd be happy with crummy seats, just as long as I'm there. What year did you see Stevie Muddy? Quote

Skate videos have some great soundtracks if you into that type music. Still listen to all that stuff weekly. Quote

Cigarlover 1 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 yep, decendents are up there. Early Bad Religion also. Yeah skating didn't help my knees. I inherited bad knees anyway. 10 yrs of skating didn't help them. I'm feeling it know and I'm only 32. Forgot to mention Rage too. One of the best bands I've ever seen live. Quote

RHCP are not even "rock" anymore... more like Pop or mainstream crap.... amazes me what some people consider music this day in time. It still played in rock style. Singing is little different then your aveage rock band, but it defitnley rock sounds! The guitarist for RHCP is amazlingly good. Yah sure some of their songs sounds like funk, but they are everything execpt pop and mainstream. Actually stadium arcadium might sound a little like pop, but majority of it actually more of funk and 90s alternative rock. The CD i have in my truck right now is from 1991 and it all rock! If they played it like the old time rock n roll then it' would sound the same IMO, so this is new ages of rock. But again I am slightly hearing impair so it hard for me notice different between all different type of genres in rock, but red hot chili pepper is still ROCK n ROLL! Also, I do listen to guns n roses, dr. hook, ac/dc, smashing pumpkin, i do have some jimi hendrix and led zepplin, errr few others I cant think of, but I got crap load of red hot chili pepper on my ipod.
