Live.2.Fish Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Man Duke really gave me a scare last night. I had them in the elite 8. BTW, I'm Kyle Deets Quote
BUCKEYEone Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 well things didnt go well for my bracket yesterday, but atleast my XU Musketeers are still in and fighting, Georgia came out with a fire lit under their @$$es yesterday! Quote
GitRDoneIke23 Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Arizona messed me up. I had them making it a couple of rounds. Most of my teams are still in, we'll see how it pans out. 8-) Quote
Super User Tin Posted March 21, 2008 Super User Posted March 21, 2008 I think WVU and Duke will be one of the best games of the tourney, can't wait. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted March 21, 2008 Super User Posted March 21, 2008 I think WVU and Duke will be one of the best games of the tourney, can't wait. I don't know what I was thinking when I put Duke into the sweet 16. To me, they are a "skill" team and not an "athletic" team. If they can't hit their 3's, then it's game game over. WV could possible destroy them. Quote
Super User Tin Posted March 21, 2008 Super User Posted March 21, 2008 How about Western Kentucky???? 8-) Quote
BUCKEYEone Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 How about Western Kentucky???? 8-) yeah! There is a surprise performance! Quote
slomoe Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 3 in OT. Man I wish I had a TV at work ;D ;D Quote
Big T Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 How about Davidson College... Stephen Curry had 40 points and 30 of them were in the second half. This team is good. They are on a 23 game win streak. Their last loss was in Raliegh to NC State, and then State was bailed out with foul call with 3.9 seconds left in the game. If they play to the ablity, I think they may have a shot to upset Georgetown. Not bad for a school of only 1700 students. Big T Quote
ejtaylor822 Posted March 22, 2008 Author Posted March 22, 2008 I'm Eddie Taylor in the brackets. My 'heels are looking (relatively) good tonight. Absolutely great to see Ty Lawson stopping and popping on that ankle. Believe he's back. The turnaround layup under goal was great. As I have been saying this year, its a different team when Lawson is on the floor. Just busted a 100. Was really hoping duke would have lost last night. Belmont put up a heckuva of fight. Go Heels! Super User Hookemdown. Posted March 22, 2008 Super User Posted March 22, 2008 10th place isn't all that bad. ;D Quote
BUCKEYEone Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 10th place isn't all that bad. ;D haha, I feel ya! I started yesterday (fri) in tenth and somehow managed to jump to 5th by the end of the day Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted March 22, 2008 Super User Posted March 22, 2008 I am Dustin Johnson, your Round 1 leader btw ;D ;D That's OK. Seems like I am always near or in the lead after the first round and then I slowly fall back. Happens every year. In this one the last couple years and the ones I do with my buddies. Gonna be some good games today and tomorrow Quote
Super User Tin Posted March 22, 2008 Super User Posted March 22, 2008 This could be the worse bracket I have ever created. My other one for a Facebook league is great, this one is just horrible. Quote

Gonna be some good games today and tomorrow I'm Carl and I'm right behind Dustin.....I expect to fall back today too.... I drank too much SEC kool aid and picked Arkansas and Miss State.......that may be too much to ask in the upset department ;D Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted March 22, 2008 Super User Posted March 22, 2008 I like to start out in the back and then force my way to the front. That's my stradegy and I'm sticking to it. : Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted March 22, 2008 Super User Posted March 22, 2008 West Virginia can pad my normal late fall. Looks like I was the only one to pick them over Duke. I also have them going to the Elite 8 : :-/ Quote
ejtaylor822 Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 10th place isn't all that bad. ;D I'll say - that where I am at right now. Noticed the top 4 all have Kansas winning it all. Kinda scary there, guys..... This Stanford v Marquette game is great. Got a little bit of everything - controversy, technicals, ejections - Marquette is not playing like a #6 team. Good game, but they just lost. Duke screwed me up - had them going to the elite 8 getting beat by Uconn : - but it doesn't bother me that bad. . Clemson also busted on me as well. That's what I get for pulling for other ACC teams. Oh, well. No where to go but up...... Go Heels!!!! Quote
IneedAnewScreenName9886691 Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Louis Thompson is thy name and I currently hate cheese! Although I picked that game I don't have to like it! Still have most of the big dogs in the fight but not looking good! Enjoy gents! Were only about half way through! Was supposed to fish today but came down with strep throat! awwwgggh! Least have some ball to watch! Happy Releasing, H.G. Quote
Big T Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Boy, I hope none of you picked Georgetown to do anything, because they were just kicked out the tournament by Davidson. These kids can play, and to come from 17 points down in the second half to win! Now it is time for the Heels to kick butt and take names. Big T Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 24, 2008 Super User Posted March 24, 2008 The NCAA should be ashamed. Yeah, let's give UNC the possibility of four home games. They should have just scheduled the first four rounds in Chapel Hill to save the sainted Tar Heels some gas money. Quote

Its all about seeding (pods) and revenue. Number one team in the nation, and number 1 seed, should be allowed to play close to home. We the fans have been supporting them all season. Nice to see them playing locally in the NCAA. Go Heels! Quote

Nice to see them playing locally in the NCAA. Go Heels! But it doesn't always work out that way ..... ie ... Last year KU (as a #1) had to play UCLA (#2) in SoCal This year in all likelihood Memphis #1 will have to play Texas #2 in Houston I am all fine and dandy with #1's getting to play in their own backyards. That's suppose to be the advantage of being a #1. As it is right now seedings can either mean everything or nothing. There needs to be some consistency. Quote
ejtaylor822 Posted March 24, 2008 Author Posted March 24, 2008 KU_Bassmaster - agree 100% with the need for consistency. Couple of years ago Duke finishes #2 in the ACC regular season, wins the ACC tournament and winds up a #1 seed in the east playing in Greensboro. Next year UNC finishes #2 regular season, wins the ACC tournment and winds up #1 seed playing out west. As far as an unfair advantage for UNC playing in Raleigh, oh well, it's part of the luck of the draw. Carolina had a good season and gets to benefit from the second time in umpteen years that Raleigh has hosted the first round of the NCAA tourney - last in 2004. (in 2004, Duke played as a #1 seed and Wake as a #4. UNC was sent out to Denver even though they had a better record and ranked higher than Wake.) Texas makes it to the final four this year - they benefit from from a schedule made 3 years ago. Michigan or Michigan State makes it to the final 4 next year, they're in Detroit - just part of the tournament. Quote
