Masshole Mike Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 I went to the store to by milk this afternoon and ended up coming home with this... Revo SX and a 7' MH Fenwick HMX. They were in the candy aisle next to the Starburst and Watchamacallit's with a little sign that said "$50 Rebate" and I just couldn't resist. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted March 19, 2008 Super User Posted March 19, 2008 Wow,that's one expensive gallon of milk. Quote
Jake P Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Abu and Fenwick, nothing better. Milk is overrated anyways who needs it. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted March 19, 2008 Super User Posted March 19, 2008 That is one of the funniest fishing tackle stories I've ever heard. Atta boy. Quote
Gidget Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 hey, what grocery store did you go to? I want to shop at your grocery store. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Problem is,...you can't go past the zoo and pet the baitmonkey on the way to the store if you don't want to spend more money than you planned on!! I was throwing that reel yesterday, Matt5.0 just got a new one for his carrot stock. I'll say it again,...what a great rod (it was like the crankbait was talking to me,lol). This reel was a nice match for it. Quote
Popeye Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 As Arnold Scharzenegger said in a movie called "Pumping Iron" "Milk is for babies!" Just think how much BETTER your milk is gonna taste now. As far as your having ZERO self control..... geez is your's that high?? "The Curse of the Bait Monkey" has put mine into negative numbers!! Ahgagagagaga!! Nice setup you ended up with!! BTW: you never said - DID you get the milk?? That musta been the "BIG Boy's CANDY" isle:o) Quote

That musta been the "BIG Boy's CANDY" isle:o) he also said "GET BACK TO THA CHOPPPPPAAAAA!" which has no relevance to any other part of this thread, but it's probably my favorite arnold quote ever. tallying up what i've spent just on tackle getting ready for the g'ville trip, i'd say my self-control has packed up, left the building, got in a cab, driven to the airport, got on a plane, flown to wherever it is the baitmonkey resides and moved in with that foul little poo-slinging primate. and no, i didn't get the milk. after leaving the candy aisle i only made it as far as the frozen foods aisle where i picked up a couple rapala dt-fat series 3 cranks and decided to call it a day. Pond Hopper Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Great choice on the reel, you are going to enjoy it alot more than that pinnacle. At the end of the year ship it off to Reelmech and it will come back better than new, seriously. Quote

At the end of the year ship it off to Reelmech and it will come back better than new, seriously. i looked at both the citica and the revo's, and i felt the revo was much more comfortable. i chose the revo sx because it has the exterior brake control and also comes in a LH model, and coupled with the 7' fenwick it's gonna be a great setup i think. add to that the $50 rebate i got by buying the rod and reel together, plus i'm going to sell off my convergence, and i pretty much got the hmx for free. if i weren't leaving on sunday i'd be sending the revo out to reelmech today to have him hook it up. guitarkid Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 There is a store kind of like that around here in South Carolina. It is called rocks country store, and they sell any color or kind of zoom product you could ever want. They also have some odd ball cranks that look pretty good too. -searoach Quote
Super User Micro Posted March 19, 2008 Super User Posted March 19, 2008 Grocery stores are great places to buy tackle. I got all my Revos on the "meat aisle." I got my Shimanos in "feminine products." Quote

Man, I'm glad I can fish Shimano straight out of the box. it's not that i can't fish the revo right out of the box, it's that everyone says reels come back better than new once reelmech's done with them so i figured what could it hurt?
