WIII-60 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 So I went to cabelas to pick up some things with some birthday gift certificates. I decided that while I was there I'd stroll through the bargain cave. Low and behold as I walked into the area.......I see the Columbia Cougar Flats tent. I'd been looking for this thing at a resonable price for ever! It turns out that some dude returned this one because he put it up in the wrong order and spilt one of the fiberglass pole sections. It took 5 minutes to fix the pole with some masking tape. In the end, I get a $240 tent for $130! It's 86'' high and 15' x 10' (150 square feet). Sleeps 8. Quote
WIII-60 Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 left side. moving around the tent clockwise. Quote
WIII-60 Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 this thing is tall! I'm 6' for comparision. Quote
WIII-60 Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 all packed. The bag has rollers, which is good because it's heavy. I can't wait to get out and use this thing. Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Tent? That thing's more like a house ;D That thing looks very nice. Quote
Super User Maxximus Redneckus Posted March 13, 2008 Super User Posted March 13, 2008 did the blonde come with it ??? do they have brunettes ??? Quote
WIII-60 Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 The blonde didn't come with the tent. While she's been equally useful, she is much, much, much more expensive. Quote
slomoe Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 ;D sweet tent. I want to do some camping this year. Quote
Cujo Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I'm going backing and trout fishing at the end of the month so I stopped in at Gander Mountain to check things out. Low and behold they had that same tent set up and I was just admiring it. Thought it would be a nice truck camping tent. I like the added vestibule it has. pretty cool! Quote
WIII-60 Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 It has an LED light that is remote controlled also. There's various velcro points in the tent, the roof and such, where you can stick the light so that you don't have to mumblef*** you're way around in the dark. The ventilation system is awesome also. You can see it in the pictures. Under the bay windows, it's the smaller half circle window under the larger ones. I'd venture to say that the temp is probably 5-10 degreees cooler inside. Maybe more. In the inside picture there's a mesh hanging loft also for storing stuff. Just an all-around, well thought out product. Quote
