62 at night; 66 during the day. Theoretically. I say theoretically, because sometimes when I get home from work the thermostat is at 66 but actual temperature is 70 or 71. I suspect when they hear the car pull up, someone races to the thermostat to turn it down before I open the door. .  .

normally 65 or so at night and during the day and 68 the rest of the time. Like it cooler to sleep though. With the ac 68-70 in the summer. I would welcome some hot day right about now though.

Well, ours has been set at 69 for the past couple of weeks. I got cold a few hours ago and turned it up to 72, but I tehn got hot a turned it back down. In the summer it is usually set at the lowest temp it will go for the air. Both my wife and I are usually hot natured. Like I said, I did get cold today. I think this medication that I am on from my spinal cord surgery last Tuesday is messing with my hot/cold feelings.

I have two systems plus my fireplace.  One for the bedrooms and the other for the living rooms/kitchen/gameroom.  I don't mind the cold, but Gidge sure does. :)

During the winter the bedroom system is usually always on.  My PG&E bill averages $800 a month in the winter.....

Summer is a different story, it can get HOT here in Gilroy so the two AC systems are usually on during the day and at night as well -

We have radiant heat so I don't really swing the thermostat too far either way. I pretty much leave it at 68. Might go down to 62 if we are taking off for a day or two. I can't wait til spring, it's been kind of an expensive winter with oil prices well over three bucks a gallon. Putting in a pellet stove this summer when the money gets rolling in again to help keep the oil man away as much as possible next winter.

Yea,...we gotta get you a life.... ;D

Robert, $800??????  For heat in California?? :-?  That fireplace kicks out enough to warm everything but the far bedrooms, I had no idea it would cost that much.

I'm not sure whether to take this as a compliment or a slam! :-?

It was a funny read anyway!

You gotta admit it was atleast an original question!

it just goes to show you Glen that the site has grown from just fishing to an all around sharing of ideas.

That combined with the fact that it is pretty boring in Illinois in the winter.

I have no shame I willtake it as a compliment!

It's more a compliment and a statement of disbelief (in a funny way).  Certainly not a slam.

We keep ours on 70 all year long. On really cold nights or days or when I feel like it I light a fire in the woodburning stove and the basement gets up to like 76 degrees which is toasty to me. I am naturally cold blooded too I guess because I like the warmth, 60 is freezing to me in the winter, but it's not bad during the summer.
