BUCKEYEone Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I have a sad confession: I drive a mitsubishi lancer. I hate this car with a passion. All winter long I have been waiting on a lightening strike to hit the tree that hangs ove the driveway. Today we got an ice storm, 1/2 in. of ice on everything, including the big branch over the drive. I strategically parked my car under the branch when the ice was getting started. It is now 9pm and the branch has arched over my car and the tip of the branch that is usually 15 feet in the air is less than 15 inches over my car. WHY??? Have some pitty, lord! If anyone happens to drive by, feel free to hit the car and end my sorrow! Quote
BUCKEYEone Posted March 5, 2008 Author Posted March 5, 2008 I know, but I hate to think I dropped a few thousand dollars to own a car that has been nothing but a pain in the @$$. I think I would just get more of a thrill from seeing the car crushed! Quote
bassdocktor Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Well good luck. Maybe all you need now is a strong wind. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 There the poor mans evo. no tubo, no upgraded shocks and breaks. I have not clue what engine you got but if you got the 2.4 or knowen as the 4g69. I belive you can find ll sorts of parts for it. I will ahve to check. But I think thats the same motor the elcipse used and it was turboed. Quote
Jake P Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I strategically parked my car under the branch when the ice was getting started. LOL! ahhh that was funny. I feel your pain i have a 2000 blazer that i have out almost put as much money as i paid for it into it. Everytime i turn around something goes wrong with it. I think everybody is entitled to one of those cars in their lifetime. Lucky for me i found an incredible deal on a new truck so i dont have to deal with the pos anymore. now my brother gets to deal with it :-X Quote

Evos used a newer 4g63t that was pretty much the same as the 7bolt turbo eclipse motors just with a different valve cover and some stuff. Lancer es and the other non-turbo ones used the 4g69, like you said, but it's alot different than the 4g63t's. Exhaust manis won't bolt up :-[ If I remember right they're also mounted opposite of the 63t's, like the 420a's they put in the NA eclipses. Ugh, I want another dsm sooo bad :'( That's definitely my next project after I get this boat up to par 8-) Quote
guitarkid Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I have a truck like your blazer, accept mine never really ran to start with. It is a 1975 Chevrolet custom deluxe. It has 477,000 miles on it, Has the original tires on the back, and will kill any battery it touches. I bought it hoping to get a truck I could play with, and I thought My Uncle has a cool truck that I could get to drive. Well now that the money that I saved up to fix it is gone, it is no longer at my house,I really do Miss working on it. -searoach Quote
WIII-60 Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 If Indian lake Ohio is anything like KCMO, just leave it running while you run into the store. Abracadabra! No more Lancer. Quote
BUCKEYEone Posted March 7, 2008 Author Posted March 7, 2008 haha, unfortunately that doesnt seem to work around here. I leave it running when I run in somewhere, leave it unlocked with the keys on the seat every night parked in front of the house, and...nothing. It is the 4g63, which is typically a decent motor, but this one is just a lemon....have had to replace timing belt, plugs, wires, coils, etc. The biggest thing I hate about this car is that they messed up the design of the hvac system, and the knob to turn fron cool to warm broke off, and you cant just buy that knob (although mitsu knows of the problem), you have to spend $300 to buy a new ac control unit. Pliers will work for me, thanks. I'll sell it this summer, but until then...I'll just have to hate it. Quote
