Super User Catt Posted March 1, 2008 Super User Posted March 1, 2008 Sorry guys but I will be off the radar for a couple days, I wish it was fishing; things have been hectic around home lately. I know many of y'all responded to my post about one of my son's high school friend who was brutally murdered. I was informed by my wife that Wanda was married to one of her niece's husband's brother; how I missed that one I'll never know. Between this and other personal problems I will be flying low for a couple more days but I shall return. Here's an up date from our local paper Husband Speaks Out About Wife's Brutal Murder Reported By: Lee Peck "The hard emotions, they're still there," said Kevin Barton. Putting up a strong front, Kevin Barton recalls Tuesday morning -- a day that destroyed the world he had created with his wife Wanda. "I was coming home from work in Cameron (off-shore), and I called my wife and she didn't answer. I figured she was in the shower or still sleeping. So I called back a few minutes later and my son answered the phone and said that his mommy was on the floor in the kitchen and she wasn't moving," recalls Barton. Concerned, Kevin called family members who discovered 26-year-old Wanda brutally stabbed to death inside the young couple's home off Country Club Road. "It's just speculation, I speculate that it was a robbery that went wrong," said Barton. The couple's four year old son was home but unharmed. "He's fine and playing and everything. He understands his mommy is not coming back," said Barton. "He's given statements to the sheriff's office and they've interviewed him the best they could and they said they got a lot of real good information from him." At this time, no arrests have been made but authorities want to talk to this man -- 20 year old Jose Manuel Garcia Guevara. An illegal alien, who lived next door to the Barton's. Kevin says they did not know Guevara; a man authorities believe purchased a bus ticket to Dallas so he can make his way back to the Mexican border. Still in shock, Kevin holds tight to better days with his wife of nearly four years. "She was the best kind of person. Always smiling, always happy, always willing to do any new adventure. She had a lot of firsts with me. I gave her the best life I could give her," said Barton. As for Garcia Guevara, considered armed, dangerous and still on the run. "If it is him, you let them find you. And let's get this over with. It's better than the alternative. And if it's not, whoever he is, we're coming and we're coming with everything we've got," said Barton. Garcia Guevara had been living with four roommates who have been detained by U.S. Border Patrol. Guevara is described as about 5'10", weighing 190 pounds with black hair. Anyone with information to his whereabouts is asked to call the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office at 337-491-3605. Quote
