Branuss04 Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I had something similar happen to me in Alaska. We were in the Cook Inlet fishing for Halibut. I hooked up with a halibut. It didn't seem big when I first hooked up with it, but kept pulling line out. I fought it for 20 minutes when I got it up to the top, there was half a halibut left and a 4-5 foot shark following it (The capt. called it something like a sh#$ shark or something similar, I guess because they are bottom feeders.) The halbut (When whole) was around 35 pounds. it was cool, but kinda sucked at the same time. It was a lot of work to pull that halibut in only for a shark to snack on it. Quote
