Today I found myself in a mischievous mood, and I decided to go extra heavy on my usual shenanigans. At approximately 1:30 am, I started blocking a friend's door with masking tape. From there it escalated into blocking the doorway with post-it notes. After 40 minutes of good ol fun work, here is what my friends will wake up to:

Man, I cant wait until they wake up...

ahhhh,...my forte!!

Couple ideas

1. Powder bomb-take an old album (vinyl disc with music recorded on it) cover.  Fill it with baby powder, slide opening under door and step hard on album cover

2. Fire drill- Start at top of corridor, tie twine to 1st door knob.  Now go "cross-hall" to adjacent door knob.  Repeat all the way down the hallway crossing from one door knob to next knob on opposite side of hall

3.  How much did I drink??  Works on "basic" rooms.  When occupant is out, switch everything on right side of room to the left and vice versa.  EVERYTHING, posters, furniture, anything hanging on walls, etc.  A good head scratcher. lol

4.  Wanna play drums?   55 gallon waste basket or drum.  Fill 1/3-1/2 way with water (bring it to showers)  Now, lean on a good angle, balanced, against enemies door.  walk away very quietly.

Or

Knock once and run,lol.

Well this morning I woke up to a weird sound and some laughter. I dismissed it and went back to bed for a few more minutes. When I opened my door, my friend had put what was left of the mess across my door, which was pretty funny. Upon talking with him, he said that when he opened his door, he was thoroughly confused as to why he couldn't see into the hall. He had to do a karate chop to get the blockage out of his way, which is what that weird noise was. Overall, the prank went pretty well.

Tonight my friend and I are planning to do a similar thing to another 2 people's door, except with duct tape. We are going to completely wall them in, no holes or gaps in the tape. Pics will be posted if the mission is successful.

If the door opens into his room (which most dorm doors do), close the door, then stack soda cans in the frame on the hall side against the door. stack them as high as you can. Then tape up the door frame so they can't fall into the hallway. When he opens the door from the inside, they will all tumble into his room. Takes a lot of work but it would be hilarious.

Here are a few good pranks.. I have seen a couple first hand.

1. After your roommate goes to sleep take plastic wrap and plastic wrap your toilet bowl under the seat. Works in dorms too!

2. (works best if your in a suite or apartment) After your roommate is passed out due to extreme exhaustion (i.e drunkeness). Take everything on his side of the room.. and yes this includes his TV/computer/jackets/wallet/electronics.. EVERYTHING and put it in the bathroom. He will wake up surprised.

3. (freezer required) Take every pair of your roomates underwear soak them, put them in a plastic bag, put in the freezer.

4. One I have not tried yet but have heard some stories. Take a big garbage can or something that can hold a lot of water. Buy packs of dixie cups and when your roommate is again "Extremely exhausted" fill up each little dixie cup and cover every flat surface in his room especially the floor and desk. You need to cover every flat surface so he cant jump around the room. He has to spill the cups or drink them making a path. One question what is one of the first things you do when you wake up in the morning?

The first 3 have been field tested and do indeed work well! The 4th is for when you feel creative! Enjoy! ;D

For those of you under the age of 50, you can also make this trick work with a large manilla envelope.

Also, when a friend has their door shut, take a hand full of pennies and start forcing them between the door frame and the door. If you can get enough jammed in there that it puts pressure on the door knob they will be stuck in their room until the pennies are removed.

If you have a friend who leaves his room, and leaves the door unlocked, reverse the peep hole, or remove it completely and then slip a lit firecracker or a bottle rocket through the hole when they are asleep.

Despite the fact I'm moving back home after this semester, I can honestly say moving a few hours from home into the dorms was the best decision I ever made.

Here's a few pics of our shenanigans:

Similar to a trick LBH mentioned cept we wanted to do it to two kids that lived next to eachother. Same effect achieved  ;D

They had our bathroom closed over the course of about a week, one night someone was sloshed and decided to use the bathroom anyway. The next morning housekeeping did this.  ;D

We took the RA sign off of our RA's door and swapped it with the "Men Only" sign on the bathroom door.  ;D Took him several days before he noticed.

Shaving cream pie. I hid in the shower til my roommate jumped out and launched it at him.

Water balloon launcher, self-explanatory  ;)

Matress jousting. 2 guys. 2 matresses. An all out running battle to see who can knock who down.  8-)

Usual photoshop shenanigans taped to the door. Haha, my roommates a princess.

It's a blast!!

I'm liking your ideas guys, and I have already done some of them. I have tied doors together with 65 pound test powerpro and witnessed the yells of confusion and frustration in the middle of the night. I have also done many pranks with firecrackers. Dropping them in windows while friends are sleeping and studying, stuff like that. One time I tied one to an RC car and drove it into a friends room to hear "oh cool when did you-*BOOM* aw &%#@!". Another one i have been doing is using cable ties or "zip ties" to tie people to things. If they dont have scissors or a knife on them they are pretty much helpless. Anyway, looking forward to more ideas, and i will update as the shenanigans continue.

For those of you in construction when someone goes into the portapotty take some 2 inch screws and screw them into the occupied symbol on the door

they see the screws but can't take them out

Power tools rock

Why not take some plastic warp and tape it to his door jam. So when he opens his door he thinks it ok to walk out. Then he walks right in to it.

SARAN WRAP!!  They walk right into it.  Just like when you do a toilet seat. ;)     Rookies.... ;D

Hey funny ideas you've got here ! Brings back memory of when I was in St Cyr Cadet Highschool .....

The Fire Drill you mentionned went to be often used.

But we had others like :

The "Orangina" : you basically shake the locking armoire/wardrobe of your roommate so that everything inside goes against the door... when he opens the doors, everything should fall...... even funnier if the guy had perfume or beer bottles inside  ::)

Using water-balloons or water-filled condoms, you put them gently between the bed sheets or the sheet and the blanket, usually when you come back exhausted, you have a good chance at falling on your bed... that's when the balloons come into play  :-?

When your roommate is sleeping, gently fill his hands with shaving cream and then tickle his nose with a feather.... chances are, he's going to rub his face ! Weird way to wake up ...

and the nasty one .... Find a stinky french cheese (that's not hard, they all stink) and put it somewhere where it should not be found easily. The best spot being the heather (often checked though).

Not a short-time prank, but if you can put it behind the heater that should accelerate the process  :P

I bet you've already done most of those too  ;)
