Super User burleytog Posted February 25, 2008 Super User Posted February 25, 2008 Barely started the race, spent the last 3 hours waiting out rain, now drying the track. Going to restart at 1AM EST and attempt to finish the whole thing. That would mean they'll finish around 4AM EST. Gonna kill Fox's ratings this weekend. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted February 25, 2008 Super User Posted February 25, 2008 "That's racing" (or the lack of it) Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 25, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 25, 2008 Not that it would have made a difference today, but starting a race at 5PM is just plain stupid. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 This why iam more of a fan of road racing. They will race in the rain. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted February 25, 2008 Super User Posted February 25, 2008 This why iam more of a fan of road racing. They will race in the rain. It's a safety issue with NASCAR. I rather have a few delayed races than a few dead drivers. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 I know its for the drivers. It gets a little old trying to watch a race that takes 12 hours to finsh. I know them lemans racinig can go that long. I can deal with that. It also seems like them road race guys have more skill. There driving a car that weight bewteen 2500-3000 lbs. Sure they have traction control and a bunch of other things. And most of them cars have more power then a stock car. But nothing beats watching them road race cars in the rain. I would love to do a lap in one of them or a f1 car any day over a stock car. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 25, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 25, 2008 1:10AM EST and still no racing... Quote

Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted February 25, 2008 Super User Posted February 25, 2008 Is this going to be televised?? I am not really a NASCAR fan, but I might have to watch to just be able to say I watched. That's nuts!!!! Quote

Only in a perfect world. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 I sure hope that they are going to run the bush later today. Or its going to be a really long day. I think I would be weird to race the same track knowing you were racing when the sun set. Then your racing when the sun rises. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted February 25, 2008 Super User Posted February 25, 2008 Is this going to be televised?? I am not really a NASCAR fan, but I might have to watch to just be able to say I watched. That's nuts!!!! They plan on it, check out your local FOX station. I'm so bummed about work. I mean how often can you watch the top-tier stock cars race in the wee hours, live? This is right up my alley. I'm assuming the Busch, or Nationwide, race will be Mon daytime tip. It was originally supposed to follow the Cup. Funny comment about the sunrise. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 25, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 25, 2008 The Busc...errr, Nationwide race is supposed to go off at 1PM EST. If it weren't for that one, the Cup race would have already been postponed. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 I just checked with nascar. They are going to race the other race later today. But iam glad they didnt race the other race right away. Becasue I have been up many times to see the sun rise, set, and rise agian. My mind was usless. Iam worndernig how many cup driver will be racing later today. By the way burley I still call the sprit cup winston cup. I refuse to us the name nextel/sprit. I called it winston for like 12 years. I will not call the bush series by its new name. I have been calling it bush for about 16 years now. Then I hear the craftsmen series is looking for a new name. I think they should go with larry the cable guys name. The playtex truck series. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 ok Nascar just called it. Bring on the road racing. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted February 25, 2008 Super User Posted February 25, 2008 It's official, Cup @ 1:00pm Eastern Mon. At least I'll get some sleep. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 25, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 25, 2008 Dammit, Cup race postponed till 1PM EST. There goes my hope of watching a Cup race at 4AM. Having a race in California in Feb. is about as smart as having a fishing tournament in Wisconsin in January. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Wow burley that is the funniest thing I have heard in a while. It looks like I will be taking a lot of breaks from class tomrrow. Quote
