Super User burleytog Posted February 23, 2008 Super User Posted February 23, 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7205059.stm Microsoft is warning Windows Vista users that a forthcoming service pack for the operating system may stop some third-party programs working. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted February 23, 2008 Super User Posted February 23, 2008 Well, that just goes to prove that Vista is the worst piece of crap that Microsoft has ever introduced, and they have introduced a LOT of crap of late. It's too bad that Bill Gates is so far out of the loop that he has no idea what his company is doing anymore. Quote

maxke01 Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 When i bought my laptop and desktop first thing i did was immediately downgrade back to XP Pro Quote
Super User Alpster Posted February 23, 2008 Super User Posted February 23, 2008 I am still running XP on a ten year old computer, without XP-SP2. This machine and OS is as bullet proof as it gets. JMHE Ronnie Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 24, 2008 Super User Posted February 24, 2008 Easy remedy, when the "New and Improved" version is introduced, do not upgrade the present version if you now have Vista. I seems that each new version of Windows just included more spy software from Microsoft. The numerous " Windows Update" popups are getting rediculous. There are lots of virus and spy protection products on the market that work very well without Microsoft's interference. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I don't have vista and I don't think I will get it. I was on a buddies computer and every time I clicked some thing a messege would pop up asking if I wanted to do that. Quote
