SteveMan07 Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 I never really have too much luck with spinner baits, but of course i would like too. I need help with matching the color to the water clarity, if that matters. Also any techniques you would like to share would be appriciated. Thanks, Steve Quote
SteveMan07 Posted May 20, 2008 Author Posted May 20, 2008 Also, any advice for brands of good spinners would be great. Steve Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted May 20, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted May 20, 2008 Start here: http://www.bassresource.com/fish/spinnerbaits.html I fish spinnerbaits A LOT, and wrote the article above. Hope that helps! Quote
christopherjake Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 I love spinnerbaits. My favorite is the Terminator Tungsten Skeet Reese version, 7/16 oz. Works like a charm. Quote
Garnet Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 You need to separte spinnerbaits for largies and smallies. Smallies is a need for speed and largies bump and bang and trash around. Garnet Quote
hawgchaser Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 They can be fished many different ways but it is easy to fish them too fast. I like to slow them down and let them bump off of rocks, stumps, the bottom, or just tickling the grass. One of the most productive lures of alltime and still going strong. Quote
zbigbadaaron Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 some good brands are boo yah, strike king, and terminator Quote
SteveMan07 Posted May 21, 2008 Author Posted May 21, 2008 Thanks for the info. Just got some new spinner baits and am going fishing tomarrow. Hopefully this will help. Steve Quote
bass wrangler569 Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 As far as color choice I generally stick with white in clearer water and chartreuse or firetiger in darker water. If the water is stained or in between I like white w/ chartreuse. Quote
FunnyFish Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Terminator, chart, blue, and firetiger seem to work best for me my water is stained to murky but all colors have worked at one time or another. Quote
