So I was watching Tv and saw the infomercial for this product. Babe Winkleman says it works and says he wouldn't endorse any product that he thought wouldn't work. If the action I saw from the infomercial is the action you could expect from the bait then I think it be decent. Anyone tried these yet?

Do a search for "Banjo minnow" on the forum search, there have been loads of threads about this subject. It's been around for a while, and while some people use it, the majority of opinions will tell you that it is infomercial garbage

EDIT: I didn't realize the "006" was a new version, but I imagine it won't change the Banjo reputation...

I did a search earlier and there was only a post about a hook from the kit. I don't know how new the 006 kit is and never heard anything about the old banjo minnow.

hmm, looks like the old threads got deleted with the forum upgrades or something...

Basically, most people bought them, tried them, and never used them again. Some people say they do well with them, but the great majority of the opinions are negative.

Take the money, run it through a cross-cut shredder.  You will be accomplishing the same thing.

I never personally fished them. My cousin had a set when they first came out. We fished a tributary which gets a good smallmouth run. He outfished me with live SHINERS at least 10:1. I couldnt believe it.

Okay,

I have been told by some members

that the search function isn't bringing

up anything, so this thread is re-opened.

Game on!

I'll start...

There are better alternatives that are easier

to fish, don't require cheap attachments and

are far less expensive. Slug-Go or flukes come

to mind.

Can you catch fish with the lure? Yes.

When almost anything else would work

better, the Banjo Minnow will produce a

few fish.

8-)

I'll echo roadwarrior's recommendation of a slug-o in similar circumstances. If you rig them with the right hook, you can get them to dance pretty darn well.

My man, you know how the spoon was invented ? a guy is eating his lunch, drops a spoon overboard accidentally and a fish strikes it, or how about the famous french fry worm ? a couple of guys went fishing, hooked french fries, casted in the lake and caught fish with it, but that don 't mean you are going to fish with your silverware or with your shore lunch. Besides that, if you gimme a fat check with a 6 figure number written on it I too would say wonders about your product.

BTW - I got over 100 results when searching for "Banjo Minnow" on this page:

Be sure to select "(all posts)" in the "This post was made in the last..." field.

The search box at the top of the forums only performs a search on the most recent posts.  You need to click the "search" link to the left of it to access the page above, and then do a more refined search.  I recommend and prefer this method ALWAYS over using the search box.

I see no reason to close a thread because anybody thinks that a better bait is available or that it has been disscussed before.

That means about 100 senko copy's  can't be talked about battery ? wquld be out, jigs and jon boats.

Were the Banjo minnow failed was being available in kit and not available in bulk.

Banjo minnow was the first high end swim bait that I seen and there a 100's available now that are 3x the price of banjo.
