flippin4it. Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 I root for Burton, but if I was a betting man. My money would be on Junior. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 17, 2008 Super User Posted February 17, 2008 I'll let you know if they ever start the damned race. Anyone remember when races started at 1PM every Sunday? > Quote
Fish Man Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 i agee. does anyone even care for all the crap they have on before the race? Quote
ejtaylor822 Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Yeah, I rushed home thinking the race started at 2. Its almost three and they haven't even started talking about the start. I will say its really cool seeing all the old school guys. The piece on Allison and Yarborough in the '79 race was great. Quote

Super User Tin Posted February 17, 2008 Super User Posted February 17, 2008 i agee. does anyone even care for all the crap they have on before the race? It's good for getting my homework done. Anyone see Chubby's great lip syncing skills? Quote
BUCKEYEone Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Old-timers syndrome...he forgot his own words! Oh, and I would pay big $$ to see Mark Martin take this one to the checkers, but I'd hate to see the number 8 there without Jr. I'm torn! Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 17, 2008 Super User Posted February 17, 2008 17 laps, two commercial breaks. Going to be more commercial programming than racing. > Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 17, 2008 Super User Posted February 17, 2008 It sucks but would you expect anything different? > That Gopher Cam is pretty sweet 8-) Quote

Super User burleytog Posted February 17, 2008 Super User Posted February 17, 2008 That Gopher Cam is pretty sweet 8-) X2 Perhaps if they wouldn't show the d**n gopher every time. It's as bad as the football broadcasts and that d**n robot. Quote

Olebiker Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 All this talk for the last week about the Hendrick and Gibbs teams... There's going to be a lot of celebrating in the Dodge camps tonight. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted February 18, 2008 Super User Posted February 18, 2008 The cars are fugly as all get out but a lot racier. Nice to see NASCAR get a brain and increase the size of the plates to allow more HP. All in all a pretty good race and I never saw that finish coming. Quote
ejtaylor822 Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 What a finish! I didn't think ANYONE could beat the 20 car with the lead and one lap to go... +1 Congrats to Newman +2 Good job for Newman. Was really hoping Stewart would take it, but, nice to see Newman back in the winner's circle. I have never cared for Kurt Busch. But, I have new respect for the guy. He helped out a teammate and didn't try to make it a three way finish. Busch showed some class and real teamwork that I didn't think he was capable of - very cool. 8-) Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 About time Newman finished a plate race with the shiny side up.... Last time I had on my Newman t-shirt this happened! Quote

I mean, several times there should have been some major wrecks, but the car straightened itself out. It seem the more cautions there are, the more strategy is involved. Not sure if that's true, but it makes it more interesting to see who pits and who doesn't, and why.... and how it ultimately plays out in the end. Could REALLY do without all the commercial breaks! Popeye Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 GO DODGE!!! 'Bout time, I doth thinketh. The last few laps were some great racing. Up until then I thought Kyle Bush was gonna run away with the whole thing. Nice to see that Kurt helped his team buy pushing Newman ahead of Stewart and his brother. Pensky can now go for the BIG TWO. Quote
ba7ss3in Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 great race, thought it was going to come down between Kyle Bush and Stewart until that car jumped in Stewart and Jr's way. Go Jr. Quote
