Grapevine has it down that you don't feel welcomed here.

Let me personally say it ain't so!!

You catch world class fish, you have a great personality and have no problem sharing and helping.  You're a great member in my book and I hope you decide to stay,...for everyone's sake.

Sincerely,

Russ

Having slept on it last night, I know that my comments were inappropriate because I misunderstood some of the comments on the old guy vs young guy thread.  I got slapped around by 3 very respected members and got my feelings hurt.  I have, by nature, a short fuse and when I feel insulted I either want to fight back, or walk away.  I'll get over it.  I usually do.

This will teach me to keep my thoughts to myself.   :-X

Hawgin,

I guess I have seen exactly what was said or your response, so maybe I'll edit this post later...But, aside from whatever that issue is...You are a great contributor to this Forum and would be missed.

Stick around, the Depends can't afford any defections, we're outnumbered by the Diapers!

Hawgin, I'm glad you're still around.  I've been missing the KC guys on these threads.  I actually took a good sabbatical from the forums myself.  I didn't even look at the "Old vs young" thread until now so I didn't know what was up.  Ok, so you misunderstood what was going on in the thread.  I have, on more than one occasion, skimmed and mistook the attitude of a thread.  I'm sure a lot of other people have done the same.  You were man enough to apologize.

I think there is something this forum can take from this.  While this issue was due to a misunderstanding, there have been other threads where the "home boys" may have been a bit too quick to defend each other and they may have missed a good point that is being made by an unfamiliar member.  We all can do a better job of communicating with our BassResource.com community.

Hey Hawgin,

Does the Plaza Shopping Center still put up Christmas lights on all of the buildings?

I lived in KC back in the 50s, in one of the apartment buildings across the cement creek from The Plaza.  I understand they were torn down.  But I still remember those buildings outlined in Christmas lights at the Plaza.

I also attended an elementary school on State Street across from a fantastic hamberger place shaped like a circle. Fantastic hambergers.

Are they still there?

Just wondering.

Thanks,

Sam

Yes, they still do the plaza lighting every year. They flip the lights on on Thanksgiving night, and don't turn them off again until mid January. It's still one of the biggest events in KC around the holidays.

I'm not sure I know exactly which hamburger place you mean, but the best three in KC are Fritz's (with the train that delivers your food), Town Topic, and Hayes Hamburgers.

I know how that goes.  My best friend and I were fishing a private pond one day that we have caught some 4-5 lbers out of.  He gets a bite one day and just start hollering for me.  He got all excited thinking he had hooked into a 10lber.  Ends up being a 7 pound catfish he hooked in the side with a spinnerbait.

I apologized publicly on the 'offending' thread and received an awesome PM response from Hawgin. I hope it's all good and your back in the saddle here. Sorry again.

Ronnie-

I will say it again, you have nothing to apologize for.  You are someone that I have the utmost respect for, and if you say I was wrong, then I know I was wrong.   :-/

I walked away that night and slept on it.  I realized how much I enjoy it here, and how much I would miss it after a few days of being away.  There are, for the most part, a great group of guys on here that enjoy talking both fishing and other things with so I would hate for my bull headedness (I know Long Mike that's probably not really a word) ruin that.

Posted

Yep I done it twce, appologized both times. Its real hard to explain your point and mood through words. LongMike is correct on this when he preaches grammer and spelling or what ever he gripes about its right. gotta know the english stuff to make a good point.

I also know that it'll take time around here, I see a group of buds here and they dominate the forums thats O.K. and normall actually, sometimes they acknowledge ya sometimes they don't. Just like High School they got to get to know ya,

I really can't relate my humor very well here, I think I'm between Muddy and Burley-which I guess aint saying much, but I'm known for the cut down funny makers-my first post I did say my humor does get me into trouble ;D

I've gotten some cool PM's latley from some and that was very cool, Daniel My Bratwierst is helping me out and Sam has given me some pointers, I know I may never go to a BR get together and thats a bond those guys have and you can't compete with but, thats not why I joined to begin with. I seen LBH's boat project and it went from there, everything else has been positive, Glenn does a great job with it here.and I have learned so much on Rods and reels here.

so far everyone is A. O.K. in my book,

Did make a rule of thumb not to get on the thread if I'm not in a decent mood :P

So I'm still waiting for a decent mood :(

I thinks Sam is asking about Winstead's.
