Dean Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 If you haven't tried this drink,DO IT! It is simply amazing, and it keeps me up all hours of the night. And after you try one, VOTE. So boys and girls, let the Monster wars begin! Quote
Fish Man Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 assault for me, however the m80 is close behind. i love them all but im waiting to try out the monster java flavors Quote
Other. Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Were is the "none" option? man I hate those drinks. One of my buddies let me give it a taste and the second it hit my mouth I spit it out on the cafeteria floor. They are way to sweet with a disgusting after taste. How do you drink that stuff? Quote
Fish Man Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 i lived off of them, rockstars, and redbulls this summer when i was working or somtimes the lo carb ones after going to the gym or working out.made the heat more bearable and work seem to go by faster ;D Quote
tipptruck1 Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 I once drank two of them in one setting. I will never do that agian. It made me really sick. But I also don't drink munch of them so called engery drinks. I can drink a gallon of that stuff and would still not do any thing for me. I can drink a can of any engery drink and fall asleep. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted February 15, 2008 Super User Posted February 15, 2008 I tried the one the Java drinks the other day ... Quote
Valascus Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 I don't drink any of that stuff at all. I don't think people realize exactly how bad those things are for your heart. In some people, the ingredients can cause a dangerously fast heart rate. Not to mention the insane amount of sugars contained in them. It's like drinking diabetes in a can. health concerns aside, anytime drink any "energy" drink, I feel "energized" for maybe an hour or so. Then I only to end up feeling more tired when the effects wear off than before I drank it in the first place. No thanks. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted February 15, 2008 Super User Posted February 15, 2008 I live off of the big Rockstars in the summer when I am night fishing before and after work. I also enjoy Ketel One and Redbull. Monsters are gross. Quote
Dean Posted February 15, 2008 Author Posted February 15, 2008 Hmm the voting statistics are turning out pretty interesting. We'll just have to wait and see for more results. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted February 15, 2008 Super User Posted February 15, 2008 My vote goes for two bee pollen tabs and a glass of water. If I'm going the energy drink route, I prefer Red Bull. On fishing trips, I fill a big mug with ice, Jager, and Red Bull. I used to do the vodka and Red Bull thing, until I found out good vodka only needs ice. Quote
GitRDoneIke23 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Out if the choices.........Original. I like Full Throttle and Sobe No Fear. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted February 16, 2008 Super User Posted February 16, 2008 When I was going through my cluster headache cycle one of the suggestions was to down one of these "drinks" as soon as you felt an attack coming on... so I bought a couple...... Yeccchhhh!! Those things taste like ****. Quote

Dean Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 i drink the blue ones ,not sure which one it is on the poll The Lo-Carb one Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 16, 2008 Super User Posted February 16, 2008 The Java's are the only Monsters I will drink. Everything else tastes like monkey pizz. Red Bull if I'm living high on the hog, Full Throttle or Amp if I'm selling cans. Quote
bassdocktor Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Yeah some of those can cause rapid heart beat and elevated blood pressure. A big trick I've found to avoiding that is make sure you eat something before hand and drink some water after. Helps lessen the jittery effects. Biggest problem could be that larger amounts of caffeine over time can change your adreline productions and what not. I'd see that as a bigger problem. If I can find it later there was a short article I'll try and link that had the actual caffeine levels and the effects of these. If you guys are looking for something that is sugar free and really kicks you to the point where I couldn't even close my eye, Spike Shooter. It's made by Biotest a supplement company. They actually warn you not to drink it 6 hours before bed. If you feel like you need to try it you'll prob have to buy it online or somewhere like the Vitamin Shoppe. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted February 16, 2008 Super User Posted February 16, 2008 I used to love the orginal one until i tried the assualt then it became my favorite. I like them both. I have a monster sticker on back of my truck. ;D I dont drink them all the time just every now and then. But man they are tasty and friggen awesome. Quote
bassdocktor Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Hey guys I can't find a link to the article but December 2007 issue of ATV Sport p.87 published some of the caffeine levels. This will give you an idea of what you are actually drinking. Beverage Caffeine mg/oz Lipton Ice Tea 2.5 Coca-cola Classic 2.88 Amp 8.9 Full Throttle 9 Red Bull 9.6 Monster 10 Rock Star 10 Coffee 13 These were most of them and the ones that some of you guys mentioned. Fisher of Men Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I'm with Hookem down. Pure and simple H2O. I've never tried the energy drinks and don't plan on it. I'll have a couple of cups of coffee in the morning, but I've never saw the need to put my heart through as much stress as those drinks will put it under. I do remember as a teen drinking some Jolt cola. I remember their slogan was "All the sugar and twice the caffeine". Do they still make that stuff anymore? Quote
Valascus Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I do remember as a teen drinking some Jolt cola. I remember their slogan was "All the sugar and twice the caffeine". Do they still make that stuff anymore? Yep, they sure do. But a lot of convenient stores stopped carrying them. When I get out to a gas station or convenient store a little further out in the sticks I may come across one. I remember being in 7th grade and buying two of them one summer after a day at the local pool. Drank both of 'em back to back. Horrible idea. I was all jittery and jumpy for quite a while after that and slept like hell that night. I dont even drink coffee. Does the same thing to me as the energy drinks. Plus it tastes like crap, in my opinion. I usually don't have any problems with feeling tired or sluggish. I just make sure I get at least 6 hours-ish of sleep a night, wake up early enough in the morning to make myself a solid breakfast, and try to keep physically active. Quote
