My girlfriend and I are planning a cruise to mexico for our 3 year anniversary/valentine's day.  I want to see if any of you guys have been on one.  We are looking for places on the pacific coast for a 3-7 night cruise.  We are looking to spend around 500 per person.

For those of you who have done them, what cruise line did you take, how satisfied were you with them.  Where did you go.  Anything that you didn't like, anything that you really liked, etc.  Any help in making this decision easier would be great.  Thanks.

I figured i'd get some response like that from you 4 bizz.

I figure if I take her on this cruise it equals many many many fishing trips without the bit@#ing.

Brannus, we travel a lot. After several cruises, and a lot of trips to Mexico, I'd advise you to go to a travel agent.

Tell them what you want, and what you're willing to spend. Let them do the legwork.

You can go online yourself, and find a lot of last minute deals, but why sweat it. Let the agent do it for you. It won't cost any more.

Funjet and Apple are a good place to start, if you want to do it all yourself. Those two will have lots of trips, at all different price ranges. That will give you at least some idea of what you can get for what you want to spend. You can then go to the travel agent with a decent idea of what you want to do.

I'd also consider a resort instead of a cruise. We've been on a bunch of cruises, and may not ever do one again. The why's are too long to post right now, but, if you want, send me a PM. I'll give you my phone number and we can talk about it.

I like the resorts better. You can usually take a longer trip for the same money. And drinks are included in the all-inclusive price at almost all of the resorts. Drinks are NOT included on a cruise ship, and the bill you get at the end of the trip will stun you.

Don't even try booking right now, unless you want to drive. The airline companies are  %$$%$^#$. We booked a cruise to Mexico and some of the islands 9 months ago and leave next month. Since then our flights have been changed 4 times and right now we don't know how we are getting home or how much money it will cost. I would wait a little while before booking.

As for cruise lines, we went on the Disney cruise a few years ago and it was great. Don't let the name fool you either, it is a great time.
