WIII-60 Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 After reading a pretty bad review of the new cabelas game, I was wondering if anyone knows what the best playstation fishing game is? If you have a favorite, why do you like it? sorry for the similar thread tkoglin, but I didn't want to hijack your post. Quote
Korea_Bassin Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 My son has the Mark Davis version which is a few years old and while I can't say it's anything like the real deal, it does keep my son interested in fishing over the winter months which makes it worthwhile if for no other reason. I'm interested in seeing other responses to this as I may fork over for an upgrade if anything worth the money is out there. By the way, I'm not recommending the Mark Davis version by any means. It's quite arcade-like and doesn't accurately replicate the difficulty of bass fishing. There has to be something better out there! Quote
Dean Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Yeah I've got the Cabela's game for the PS2. It's a great overall game I think. Extremely realistic graphics, well good for playstation 2 atleast. It deserves a spot in any fishermans video game collection Quote
Tpayneful Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I have a game called Bass Landing by agetech which comes with a baitcaster style controller. It was made for playstation but works with PS2. I have not played the game in years but it is a neat concept and you have to cast right to be able to play the game. Here is a link to a controller on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Landing-Fishing-Controller-Playstation-Agetec/dp/B00130I73I Quote

The controller was cool, but like in real life...it's a right handed baitcaster :-/ Was fun tho! Quote
BUCKEYEone Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Last summer my brother in law and I made a latenight trip to Walmart, bought a WII and the rapala bass fishing game and had a blast. I wouldnt call it realistic, your bringing in a fish almost every cast! It was pretty fun though, and I'll play wii before any other game console. I hate just sitting with a controller, I have to feel like I'm actually doing something! Quote
Super User Raul Posted February 11, 2008 Super User Posted February 11, 2008 I have several bass fishing games, by far the best one is Sega 's Bass Fishing Duel. Quote
BASS fisherman Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 I have several bass fishing games, by far the best one is Sega 's Bass Fishing Duel. I agree 100%! In the sega fishing game you can pick from different lures and as you advance in the tournament season, more lures open up to where you can amass over 100 lures from topwaters to deep diving cranks as well as as assortment of plastics. You can pitch lures under docks, and cast a coutry mile. Great game and very realistic. The only thing I don't like about it is that when you fish a sub-surface lure you can see all the fish under the water. If you are fishing a dock and a huge bass is holding in a specific section, it is simple to cast right to it, and as long as your using the right lure it's as good as caught. My record for a 5 bass limit in the game was close to 55 pounds. Quote
