Super User Tin Posted February 9, 2008 Super User Posted February 9, 2008 First the Clemens evidence now Pedro Martinez in a ****-fighting ring. This is just bad, o ya, and Schilling is out for the year, and if he does come back it wouldnt be with the Sox. Quote
Dean Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Yes indeed it is. If Roger Clemens was infact injected with steroids, then all his records should be wiped. Just my feelings towards that issue. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Indeed. And the Sox let Santana go to the Mets. I would've loved to see what the Sox could do next year with Santana. Quote
Guest muddy Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 You Sox fans can have Pedro back, he has never earned his money on the Mets, every must win game he either looses or misses because of a hang nail or something. Maybe you guys can even lure him up there with a Boston Chicken Endorsement! PS The **** fighting soy broke 2 months ago, he said he will not comment on it or show remorse since it is part of his culture Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 I was really banking on my Clemens rookie cards being worth something some day.... : Still got Wade Boggs tho Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 9, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 9, 2008 Ta I just heard that videos of fights with Petey in them are on youtube. As for Santana, as long as that other team in NYC didn't get him I don't care. He wasn't worth Bucholtz, Lester, or Ellsbury imo. Quote
Guest muddy Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Hey if the cards are anything like the player hold on to them and they will GROW in value Quote
tipptruck1 Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Man this really sucks for you guys out east. I have you clemens and boogs rookie cards beat. I have a Nolan Ryan rookie card. Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 9, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 9, 2008 Clemens new cards will be a picture of a bloody towel and empty needles. : Quote

I know its on a box with a few other cards that are worth some money. I will have to try to find it next time iam at grandmas. And before I hear any thing why did you put it in a box with a buch of other cards. Will I ended up moving from my dads place after he died. So grandma packed up all my stuff with out me bing there. The last time I saw it It was in ok shape. I got the crad that way. So iam sure It not even going to be worth 600 ungraded mint card. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted February 9, 2008 Super User Posted February 9, 2008 I was really banking on my Clemens rookie cards being worth something some day.... : Same here. Oh well. Quote
Fish Man Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 sorry week as an O's fan too. idiots traded our best pitcher out to seattle......will they ever get anything right? :-/ Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 9, 2008 Super User Posted February 9, 2008 sorry week as an O's fan too. idiots traded our best pitcher out to seattle......will they ever get anything right? :-/ You do realize that the O's are going for youth, do you not? IMO it will serve them well as signing every old and used up star out there wasn't doing them any good. Quote
Guest muddy Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 McPhail is a brilliant baseball man. The Orioles have had 10 straight loosing season. So Tejada and your best arm are not going to change that on their own. He got 5 players and that Tillman looks like he is a great prospect. When you start a rebuild of a team that is in a loosing rut, and your farm team dosent have what you need, great players and fan favorites frequently go on the block. Sit back you are in for a lot of fun and I bet you within the next 3 seasons you might still be playing in October 8-) Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 9, 2008 Super User Posted February 9, 2008 The main problem in Baltimore is Peter Angelos. I don't know if MacPhail has enough mojo to overcome Angelos. Quote
Fish Man Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 i realize that but Bedard was our best pitcher and trading him away doesnt make much sense to me considering the lack of good pitchers. who else do they have cabrera and loewen. i think bedard was the only consistant pitcher we had Quote
Guest muddy Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Thats a good point Burley, his attendance is not growing like the rest of the Eastern Division and his cable contracts are not what the other big 2 franchises have grown through( Yanks and Sox) so if his pocket starts to feel it , he may be motivated to let McPhail do his thing. Watching pro sports lately you have to wonder what planet the owenrs live on. SEE NY KNICKS Quote
Guest muddy Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Watch Tillman, he is actually the hidden gem of that trade. Quote
Fish Man Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 amen to that Burley...and Muddy you can also take a look at my skins for bad ownership too Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 9, 2008 Super User Posted February 9, 2008 Bedard has been the only O's pitcher to show a spark over the last few years. The thing is, was it working? The O's have been the epitome of pathetic for the last 10 years. A change is obviously needed. Sometimes you have part with a good player to get better. As it is now, I wouldn't be surprised to see Baltimore win 75 games this season. If MLB is going to cram them down my throat, they might as well be winning games. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted February 9, 2008 Super User Posted February 9, 2008 The main problem in Baltimore is Peter Angelos. I don't know if MacPhail has enough mojo to overcome Angelos. You hit it right on the head. What an idiot he is. Quote

IMO it will serve them well as signing every old and used up star out there wasn't doing them any good. Agreed. It's not like The O's are going anywhere this year to begin with. In fact, quite a few baseball writers have said the O's got a better overal deal for Bedard than the A's got for Harren, and the Twins got for Santana. This might have been the best trade for a pitcher all offseason. Quote
