=Matt 5.0= Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Many of you may remember the black and white picture of my great grandfather taken in 1939 with his 39lb striper. It was taken in front of his summer cottage. I learned yesterday that the cottage on the island of Jamestown (R.I.) is for sale. The kicker is, he and my great grandmother got divorced back in (around 1951), and he GAVE the cottage away to spite her. It broke my grandfather's heart, because he and my dad would go down there to fish. My great grandfather was part of what is known as "Clarke's Village" on Beavertail (the southern tip of Jamestown) Even tho the house has been out of the family since the early 50's....I still feel emotionally attached, knowing the good times my grampa and my dad had there. So, to sum it up, here's what 657 sq feet right on the Atlantic Ocean will cost ya.... :'( :'( :'( Sucks to be us. Not even the cost of the property, but just the sentimental value. I'm sure someone with a briefcase full of money will tear it down. http://riliving.com/PropSearch/sfformdetails.asp?MLSid=832750&page=1&photopath=space Quote
