Super User Sam Posted February 5, 2008 Super User Posted February 5, 2008 Today is the National Signing Day for college football. Uncommitted players from across the nation will be selecting their universities today. You may want to check your favorite college's sports page to see if they received the commitment letters from those recruits they were trying to lure to their program. What is a shame is that many of the top high school players cannot academically qualify to play and will have to either go to a lower ranked school or a military academy. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted February 5, 2008 Super User Posted February 5, 2008 Julio Jones to Alabama!!! If he goes then look out!!! Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 5, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 5, 2008 Opps! I think it is tomorrow. Today is Mardi Gras so they moved it a day ahead so not to mess up the people who are going to Mardi Gras or have plans in their area to celebrate the beginning of Lent. Is Jones a quarterback? John Parker Wilson is a great high school quarterback. Not a college quarterback, but a great high school quarterback and Satan could use a real college quarterback. Let's see where Jones signs. Super User Root beer Posted February 5, 2008 Super User Posted February 5, 2008 Sam, Search Star Jackson. According to rival he was the most accruate QB at the all-american bowl. He already commited to Alabama. Julio Jones is indeed a WR. Star jackson looks solid on film, so hopefully he can live up to that in college. He just sits in pocket and make accruate passes. So if he can make those passes to julio jones and other WR that bama has recruited this going be one fantastic class. Dj halls is gone, along with keith brown, stover, and I think caddell gone also. Our WR crops is basically empty. Julio Jones and that other guy going to be a big boost. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted February 5, 2008 Super User Posted February 5, 2008 Jones better go...Otherwise they will play pitch and catch with noone. They need WRs in the worst way. Not to mention a new QB. Quote

Sam, I am not trying to be smart about this or sarcatic about this, however maybe this these talented guys that are academically ineligible should have paid more attention in school and out more effort into being a student first, then an athelte instead of vice versa. Just my opinion, T Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 6, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 6, 2008 Hey guys, great replies. And yes, some of these guys did not do their homework in the class room and the big schools are not taking partial qualifiers. It is a shame as this is one way to get into college and play a sport where you excel. As for Bama, Nick will get the kids and Bama will be back. Not this year but in the future. Tomorrow will be a fun day. And yes, Catt, that Branch kid looks awsome. I hope he looks good in purple and gold. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted February 7, 2008 Super User Posted February 7, 2008 Well, Saban did it. Rounded up the number one recruiting class in America at Alabama. Quote
