Troutfisher Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Hello to all, WV held it's first ever Republican Convention today at the Charleston Civic Center in Charleston, WV. I got to meet 3 major Presidential contenders, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, and Ron Paul. McCain wasn't in attendance, or I probably would have met him as well. Huckabee ended up winning the convention, which makes my picture even more valuable to me! Please don't turn this into a political free-for-all. I just wanted to show you guys this, thought it was pretty cool. Quote
bassdocktor Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 That's cool was it a school or personal thing? Quote
Big T Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Troutfisher, That is a pretty cool thing to be able to do. When or loose you will never forget meeting those cadidates. I still remember when I was a senoir in high school, 1990-1991 school year, Vice President Dab Qauyle came to my high school to hold a campaign rally for then senator Jesse Helms. I was able to go to that rally and I still remember that night 18 years later. TS. Quote
Guest avid Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 excellent post. Nothing political about it. You met some interesting people who happen to be politicians. Too bad Mr. McCain wasn't there. It would be an honor for ME to shake his hand. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted February 6, 2008 Super User Posted February 6, 2008 that's pretty awesome, man. I've met GW Bush before, and I have to say, when you meet a political celebrity, it doesn't really matter what party you are, it's still pretty cool. although I wouldn't call Ron Paul a "major contender" Quote

Several years ago I got meet and have a brief meal with Bill Clinton and his followers. He was not what I expected. He seemed human and down to earth. He loved to talk about sports and fishing. When I asked him a political question he smiled and sayed, "Ask me later, I'm on break." Quote
