I still think Eli Manning is overated, but for one night he was dynamic. My congrats to New york and their fans.

TS

Isn't that him with the keys to the Caddy? MVP

Yes, I said for 1 night he was dynamic. But one MVP performance does not make up for three years of being a sub-par QB. Look at Doug Williams, he destroyed Denver in Super Bowl XXII, and was MVP but for most of his career he was subpar.

Were you asleep during the playoffs? ::)

Pathetic, I liked how Belicheck and the Pats offense were in the tunnel with time on the clock. ::)

I hate to say it but that showed little class.

TS

It's Sourpuss and New England...you expect class? ;D

Well,

You have a point on that one. I am not by no means a New England fan, I can just appreciate the effort to go undefeated. That does not happen very often. However if you loose, do it with dignity.

Eli, overrated?  He has been catching flack for being mistake-prone ever since he came into the league.  If anything, he may be underrated.  Though I don't place him in the upper class of quarterbacks, he has shown quite a bit of poise over the last half of the season.  Poise counts far more than stats in big games.  I think the praise he is receiving now is well-deserved.

No I was not Burley. I just do not think he is that good of a QB. If his brother was not already in the league and his daddy been a great player he would have never been drafted so high. Did he win any championships at Ole Miss, no. Only time will tell if tonight was fluke or he becomes a great QB.

Well I guess Bill Belicheat didn't have any tape on the N.Y. Giants defensive signals  ;)

I don't know much about football. I do know a bit about baseball. Nolan Ryan , had major, shall we say control issues when he came up to the Met's , he left the league with the most no nos by any pitcher. If I remeber correctly, Joe Montana wasn't so highly regarded for a while either. In any sport winning the championship and getting credit like an MVP, has to mean you have arrived!

He won more games at Ole Miss than anyone since his daddy.

Some people and their anti-Manning stuff... ::)

I'm very happy with the outcome.  I figured NY was capable of winning this thing after watching them in the playoffs.

The defense was beyond excellant.  They dominated that game.

Kudo's to NY and any Giants fans.  Enjoy the victory.

I not hating, nor am I mad. I just don't like either one of them. As I have sad Peyton was the greatest QB at Tennessee, to have never beaten Florida and Eli rode in on his coat tails. It's all good, you have your opinion and I have mine. No hard feelings either way.

Honestly, the Pats should have crushed the Giants on offense but something was up with Brady. After watching every game of the season, I could tell something was "off". Granted the Giants were blitzing, he never really made an effort to get out of the pocket. They said his ankle wasn't an issue which I think was a lie. Brady had plenty of long bombs down to my man Moss throughout the season, tonight he could barely chuck the ball 50 yds. If it wasn't his ankle, then something had happened with his girlfriend, earlier in the week he was spotted getting her flowers and apologizing for something. Brady tossed the whole game away for NE, in my opinion. And who was calling those stupid screen passes? It worked once, failed 100 other times. I know the Giants won the superbowl in the end but I wouldnt say Eli Manning was outstanding, he wasn't injured and missed plenty of easy throws.

The commercials...some were funny but there was hardly any compared to past years. The majority of them seemed to be commercials for shows that air on FOX= boring >:(

It's just a game though, and as a fan you can't change the outcome, so congrats to the NY Giants

i am by no means a patriots fan but brady was off tonight...one that ankle was not 100% and it showed. his accuracy wasnt there and another thnin gi noticed was a sack.fumble early in the game seemed to mess up his arm bus his throwing arm was coming forward and was stoppe dall the sudden by a d lineman....to me it looked poainful

also i dont know if i missed somtihng but didnt billicheck go out onto the field to meat coughlin and got told to go off again,,,i thoguht i saw them shake hands but i might be mistaken

I guess not, I tend not to pay attention to overrated players on teams that I do not like. And unless you did not read my previous posts. I gave my congrats to New York and it fans.

TS

Maybe so, but he beat us (Packers) in below zero temps in our back yard, then went on to beat the Pats.  If he is overrated then the Giants as a team are underrated.  I'm a Cheesehead and will always be, but you got to give credit where it is due.

Congrats to the Giants and their fans.

I thought this was one of the better Super Bowls (since the 90s when the Cowboys were in it ;)).  I really enjoyed the game, especially the fourth quarter.

I don't think coach "Hoodie" did anything wrong by leaving.  He'd already been out on the field to congratulate the winning coach/team.  Everyone accidently rushed the field pre-maturely.  What was he supposed to do, have a do-over and go back and congratulate the winning coach/team again?  Folks are just looking for something to bash him for now.

As far as Eli Manning not being a good quarterback, thats just plain ignorant.  Riding the coat-tail of his dad and brother?  Does that mean Jeb Bush is going to be our next President? ;D  Come on, the guy just won the Super Bowl!  It's hard to admit as a Cowboys fan, but he's played some great football over the past couple of months.  I agree with his own assessment...NFL football is a hard game to learn, quarterback is a hard position to learn, and just like ALL players and quarterbacks in particular, it's taken him a while to get really good.  I think he's proven that he's good now.  That Super Bowl ring and that MVP award agree. :)
