BASS fisherman Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 For sure!!!! I went out this past Saturday to the freeport pool just below lock 5 trying for walleye. Not a bite, but going threw the motions helps alot. As I was fishing I had a WC-officer come and check my license. He said I'm the first person he has seen out fishing in a few weeks as he snickered at me. FYI, the areas below the dams is not totally frozen. Parts are slushy but not totally frozen. Not that you could get your boat in the water anyway. Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 29, 2008 Super User Posted January 29, 2008 Yep. Had boat winterized yesterday and had all the problems corrected so we are ready to plug in the battery charger, put fresh gas in her and head out to the lake in March. Just have to wait for that water temperature to get a little warmer. March 20, 2008 - Spring officially begins. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted January 29, 2008 Super User Posted January 29, 2008 anyone else sick? Check the line below my avatar. Hit me about 3 weeks earlier than normal this year Quote
Super User FishTank Posted January 29, 2008 Super User Posted January 29, 2008 I am definately ready to start fishing. I keep telling myself read a book or try to think of something else but the more I try not to think about it, the more I think about. Simply going crazy . I hope spring gets here soon....... Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted January 29, 2008 Super User Posted January 29, 2008 My fever spiked about two months ago. It's been a rough winter so far. I was cleaning and lubing my reels, and organizing my tackle around Thanksgiving, that usually doesn't happen until the first of the year. My symptoms will subside in about twenty-four hours, because I will be landing in Orlando, Fl. about this time tomorrow. I hope to fish at least two days while I'm down there. Hoping for a new PB LMB from this trip. Thanks to George Welcome. He directed me to a lake near where my wife and I are staying, and even suggested some baits to use. Thanks alot GW. Is it spring yet? Falcon Quote
Super User grimlin Posted January 29, 2008 Super User Posted January 29, 2008 I got a feeling once spring comes we are gonna scatter to lakes like a pack of roaches in a house that just got "RAID". ;D Quote
