dave Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Relationships are not always a great thing. And most girls are not even worth chasing after. I'm also 16 and that's my philosophy. I have time to fish, play music with the guys, go hunting whenever I want, go where I want, do what I want... And I still have all of my money! I'll worry about girls when I can afford it ;D BINGO The hardest thing (well, not the hardest, OH GROW UP) for guys in HS asking out girls is the fear of rejection. If I had any advice to give 30 years later it would be to just keep casting. Some you'll hook some you won't. Never hook any if you don't cast. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Have you considered an ugly chick? My Portuguese Nana,...born in the old country--"Marry a fat Portagee, she'll never leave you and you finally get some meat on your bones...." Shoulda listened,lol... Quote
Fishin-Psyantist Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Some day you will have a wife, 2 kids or more, two car payments, and most likely a boat payment. Mortgage, credit card bills, diapers to change, bottles to warm, grass to mow, broken mower to fix, a weed eater that dont start, annoying neighbors, taxes due, student loans to repay, clothes to buy, shoes to buy, broken or worn out clothes washer and drier, high electric bill in the summer, high gas bill in the winter, cloged toilets cloged drain lines, and if your lucky you wont need your wifes permission to go fishing, and the list goes on and on and on. Then when you reached this point in your life you might think "Man I had it made when I was 16, roof over my head, no bills to pay, all I had to worry about was a few dumb ole girls. Ahhh,, if there was only a way to go back to the past". Well Ive said this very thing to myself a few times duno about anybody else. Quote
Guest avid Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Well, leave it to ole Avid to rain on your parade of "atta boy's" When I read your comment there was one phrase that jumped out at me that you may to think about a little. For example, the girl I'd been talking to for about 3 months recently decided to blow me off several times anything up there strike you as something you may want to change in the future? Quote

Allow me an attempt at bridging the crevasse that is the difference in age between Avid and Basspro48.... If she blew you off once, shame on her.... If she blew you off twice (or more apparently), shame on you.... Let the one on your shoulders do a little more of the thinking, and I believe your errors will become more obvious to you. Good luck Quote

mattm Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Basspro, sorry you are going through this man. Just keep in mind that this is usually what happens to the best guys until they can get it all figured out. The sooner you get what Burley is saying you'll have it all figured out. Quote

fisherdave Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Man its not just women after you find a women and settle down then your job is screwing you around or the tax people are screwing you theres always someone in your life thats going to try to give you the short end of the stick, just keep a positive attitude and always give thanks for what you have been given. Its like a few other guys said before dont try to hard and make them chase you alittle they like that more than you think and also dont ever be afraid of rejection if thats one thing I could have changed about my past with women I was always afraid of rejection. Dont be a ***** but dont be at there beck and call. If they feal like there is no challenge in it then there going to either use you then lose you or just lose you. Hope this helps. FisherDave Quote
