Super User burleytog Posted January 26, 2008 Super User Posted January 26, 2008 For the first time since 03, I don't give a rat's derriere who wins the game. And for the first time since 99, I most likely won't even be watching. Well, I'm kind of lying when I say that I don't care who wins. I'm wishing tons of evil upon a certain team from Massachusetts. Super User Tin Posted January 26, 2008 Super User Posted January 26, 2008 What did the Bruins ever do to you? : I think the only people who really care about this game are in the northeast. It's been a boring season in football imo. I'll probably fall asleep before the end of the game. Quote

Popeye Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I'm NOT watching the game either! Don't like the Mannings or the arrogant Patriots and their sneering coach. First SB that I'll have missed since I went skiing way back when San Fran beat the Bengals!I'm actually planning on going to Lake Poway to do some fishin') Quote
Saladmander Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 For yeeeears, we would watch the Pats games hoping they would have a decent season. "AAAHHH, man!!! We'll do better next year." Those days were disappointing most of the time. Unless your a PATS fan, it's hard to describe what it feels like to know your home town team is about to go 19-0. Miami fans know what I'm talking about, ALMOST. Nah, just kidding. That's N.E. arrogance for ya. ;D Seriously, those of you who follow football for a long time know how it is when a team has its days. You have the bandwagoners and haters popping out of the woodwork. I hated the Cowboys and Niners for the longest time. Now, I barely remember who they are. (Joking aside, Dallas had a good team this year.) You figure at 18-0, you'll have more than the usual of both since no team's ever done that before. And, really, there is no such thing as a boring season of football. Unless, of course, you don't really like football. I could care less who the Pats are gonna beat in the Super Bowl... but man, that NFC Championship game had me glued to the tv. Anyway, GO PATS!!!! Make us prouder (if that's a word.) 8-) Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 26, 2008 Super User Posted January 26, 2008 I am for the Pats as they have four LSU players on their team while the Giants have one, for a total of 5 Fighting Tigersin the Super Bowl. I do not like the Mannings and it is enjoyable to watch them go down in flames. I am still upset that the Packers blew their game against the Giants so now I can sit back, eat my oyster loaf, and cheer for Eli to get creamed by the Pats defense. Isn't pro football fun? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 26, 2008 Super User Posted January 26, 2008 I don't have a horse in the race, but I'm more excited about this Super Bowl than any game since the Broncos beat Hotlanta! Eli Manning has put on a show the last three weeks, simply amazing. No one gave the Giants a chance in Dallas or Green Bay. Great Football! On the otherside of the ball, possibly the Greatest Football Team Of All Time! Tom Brady is still a young man and already owns three Super Bowl rings, a fourth ties him with some of the biggest names to ever play the game. New England is a machine: balanced running and passing attack, the best quarterback in the league (perhaps ever), deep threat, patience to exploit what is given and usually flawless execution. A power package on offense matched up with a defense that never quits. "On paper" the Giants don't have a prayer, but that's what all the "experts" said when they faced the Cowboys and Packers. I look for a great game. I don't really care which team wins, but I'm rooting for Gisele Bundchen's boyfriend. : 8-) Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 26, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 26, 2008 I'd like to see the Giants win - if only to see the NFC take the championship. The NFC made big improvements this year, while the AFC's dominance weakened. An NFC superbowl championship would validate that the NFC is back in contention. As for the Seahawks, Holmgren is staying another season, which means another divisional championship and another trip to the playoffs (that's 6 in a row). Maybe this time they'll make it to the superbowl and win it. I understand the Pats fan thing, believe me. The 'Hawks are ALWAYS rated as the underdog, despite winning so much (although this season they faltered a little compared to recent past). 3+ decades of no respect gets old really fast. Holmgren is already making changes in the offense (he fired his line coach last week). So expect an improved offense next year. Combine that with their scary-fast defense and you've got a superbowl-calibur team. Plus, I'm sure Holmgren wants to end his career on a high note, so there's a strong incentive. Quote
The Unabasser Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Can't wait til Aug/Sept...thats when real football starts IMO...I'll watch the S Bowl tho and put on a feedbag with some friends on the 100" screen...yep I said 100" Quote
