Turtle. Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Who is to say they haven't stopped using cameras and haven't gotten caught? How many games before that were they using cameras without anyone knowing? As for this year youd be a fool to think that they would do that again after the fine they got was handed down. As for las year here is a snippet of the rules regarding videotaping from the NFL rule book. Here are some of the league's rules regarding videotaping procedures: # In the NFL's operations manual, it states that "no video recording devices of any kind are permitted to be in use in the coaches' booth, on the field, or in the locker room during the game." Furthermore, all video shooting locations for coaching purposes "must be enclosed on all sides with a roof overhead." # In a memo to NFL head coaches and general managers on Sept. 6, 2006, NFL executive vice president of football operations Ray Anderson wrote: "Videotaping of any type, including but not limited to taping of an opponent's offensive or defensive signals, is prohibited on the sidelines, in the coaches' booth, in the locker room, or at any other locations accessible to club staff members during the game." # In the league's Constitution & Bylaws, it reads: "Any use by any club at any time, from the start to the finish of any game in which such club is a participant, of any communications or information-gathering equipment, other than Polaroid-type cameras or field telephones, shall be prohibited, including without limitation videotape machines, telephone tapping, or bugging devices, or any other form of electronic devices that might aid a team during the playing of a game." ;D And Bill Belicheat broke them all and its probably been going on since he was with the browns Best team in NFL history* Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 22, 2008 Super User Posted January 22, 2008 Watched the Chargers & Pats totally boring; Brady was picked 3 times Can we say Corey Webster Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 22, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 22, 2008 Brady is one of the most overrated, overhyped quarterbacks of all time. Can't wait 'til NASCAR begins! Quote
Evan Pease Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Brady is one of the most overrated, overhyped quarterbacks of all time. Can't wait 'til NASCAR begins! Thank you! Hes only got records because of who hes got to throw to Quote
rondef Posted January 22, 2008 Author Posted January 22, 2008 Glenn, I disagree with you, Tom is a great quarterback and he has proven it by winning three superbowls with next to no talent at wide receiver. This is the first year that Tom has actually had a true number one wide receiver (Randy Moss) to throw to. God only knows how his stats would look if he had a true number one receiver all of those years. Quote
Troutfisher Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Kudos to you Glenn, I agree with you bigtime. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 22, 2008 Super User Posted January 22, 2008 One game away from history. Run the table and let everyone say what they like, but this Patriots team can simply stand on their record. Another Super Bowl ring for Tom Brady, four and still counting? 8-) Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 22, 2008 Super User Posted January 22, 2008 As for Tom Brady being a great QB, that is a work inprogress. Troy Aikman won three Titles, and I don't consider him great outside the Cowboys organization. He was very good team QB, and without him, we don't win those 3 tittles. Say what you want about Tom. He has been undercenter for 3 titles thus far, set some records along the way. I find the Overhyped comments way off track. Alls the guy has done is win. How you over hype the best winning percentage of a playoff QB with 3 titles is purely media driven, but deservedly so. I guess to best way to illustrate what winning does to one or a team, look no further. Winning alot has a way of making you unpopular amoung other sports fans!!!! Just look at the way Brady and the Cowboys are preceived. Winning alot does that!! LOL What else could it be? Just my opinion! Hookem Quote

Another Super Bowl ring for Tom Brady, four and still counting? 8-) Yea but to,o some he is over rated...LOL How he is over rated I will never know, I cant even see how you can say that. This is the first year he has a great cast of receivers to throw it too. Last year the number 1 starting receiver is now our number 4. If Peyton has Clark, Harrisson, Addai, Wayne now if he had the same type of receivers Brady had for his career I think youd see a large gap in their numbers. He has only won 3 SBs, won 2 SB MVPs, Thrown the most TDs in NFL history, QB'd the team that scored the most points in NFL history, QB'd the team that won the most regular season games in one season in NFL history,so he must be over rated! Say what? :-? :-/ Quote
crazy4bass1 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 LMAO, you "Spygate" people need to get some new dirt on the Pats. It has gotten old, that game was 17 WINS ago. So who here would acctually not support their favorite team if they were 18-0 heading into the Superbowl but were caught cheating the FIRST game of the year? And if you say you wouldn't you are full of it. : Anyway, Pats need to step it up. In the second half of the season they have not played as well as the first. If they play like they did against the Giants last time, they will get beat this time. They have been a little lucky. We don't need to get any new dirt!!!! They were told last year, "warned last year hy the commish" to quit cheating, so its not just one game, it was going on for awhile. By the way, no one is gonna let the cheaters off that easily!!!! The cheated, now its time to let them hear about it on all the blogs out there. LMAO, trying to sweep it under the rug!!!!!LOL Whats sad is, they have the talent, they don't need to cheat!!!!! I garintee if the nfl would examine all the teams in the nfl, they would find similar infractions, in almost all the teams, and by the way pats win in a blowout, giants had ther chance to beat the pats,, they wont have another thsi one wont be close, id say 42-21 Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 22, 2008 Super User Posted January 22, 2008 I have posted a list on Brady's EX receivers, they weren't has beens, he has had good receivers and a TE all those years. Thats just absurd that he hasn't had any talent. Troy Brown , Terry Glenn, Stalworth, Deion Branch, Ernest Givens, David Patten, and the list goes on. Had Ben Coates for awhile at TE. He's had targets. Always has a back out of the backfield as well. Pats have treated WR's like they do defensive backs up until this year. Most of the time, the Pats don't want to pay them, so they move on. I consider that comment way off base, and not much consideration went into that statement considering they don't pay them to stay and from the list posted, he's had more talent than most teams. Quote

You might be dating yourself Matt. Tom Brady didnt have much time with Terry Glenn or Ben Coates on his teams they were more with Drew Bledsoe. Ben Coates's time with the Patriots was from 1991-1999, Terry Glenn's tenure with the Patriots was from 1996-2001(half a year with Tom Brady). If you take a closer look at Terry Glenn's stats for 2001 he sat out most of that year he only had 14 receptions and 204 total yards. David Givens, Deion Branch both great receivers but I personally would not put them on par with Harrison and Wayne. Troy Brown although a great player and receiver isnt in the same class as the receivers that Tom has now, hence he hasnt played much this year. Dante Stalworth, Randy Moss, and Wes Welker all where acquired in the off season prior to this season. With those acquisitions our number 1 receiver last year Jabar Gaffney is currently our 4th receiver this year. Although Tom's rookie year was in 2000, he didnt see any real playing time until Brain Cox of the Jets knocked Drew Bledsoe out of the game in the 2001 season. What I was eluding too was that this is possibly the first year that Tom's receiving core is better or the same as Peyton's. Considering last year Tom was throwing the ball to a cast of nobodies, and he got them to the AFC Championship game only to come up short. Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 22, 2008 Super User Posted January 22, 2008 Yes Tom Brady is over rated! He only threw what? 50 touchdowns, but man his interceptions where up there, 8 I believe. And a QB rating of only 117.2. And did I mention a mere 4,806 yards. 8-) Quote

Popeye Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Being a die hard Charger fan, I don't really like the Manning family much at all and since Turner, who is supposed to be some kind of offensive genius (clearly obvious last Sunday), has yet to demonstrate any real winning leadership/coaching ability, this may be the first year that I won't be watching the Superbowl. In fact, I told my wife that I'll probably just go FISHING that Sunday. I would have rooted for the Packers if they had won. I think Brett Farve had a great season and I like his attitude, enthusiasm, and demeanor towards the GAME of football and the fans! Quote
Dean Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Is brady really hurt??? I saw a pic of him with an air cast on is it for real supermaqn is hurt No he's not hurt. He has a minor ankle sprain, which wont affect him at all. Anyways, he would never miss a game like this in his life. After all, he is Tom Brady. Go Pats!!! ;D Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 24, 2008 Super User Posted January 24, 2008 Brady has been listed on the injured list for 3 straight years now but the Pats don't cheat Quote
