rondef Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 They are 18-0 and primed to win the superbowl. They will make history in two weeks and be the greatest team of all time. GO PATS!!! Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 21, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 21, 2008 The Giants and patriots. 2 teams I really don't care about. Another yawner of a superbowl. That said, would still like to see the NFC win one - at the cheatingpats loose one. So it would be cool if NY won. But I don't see that happening. Quote

Big T Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Can't stand the Giants and I think that the Mannings are totally overrated. Peyton was the best QB at Tennessse to never beat the Florida Gators, and Eli is just riding his brother's coat tails. Just my opinion. T Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 21, 2008 Super User Posted January 21, 2008 .........go Giants. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 21, 2008 Super User Posted January 21, 2008 Not many gave the Giants a chance in Green Bay, Well 10 in a row on the road and still going. By the way, the Pats didn't exactly Whip them good last time. I will say this game will be in a stadium that has sliding roof. So Moss and Brady will thaw out. Should be back to the old scoring machine they have demonstrated part of the year. Agian, I will say, The Giants aren't scared!!!!! Quote
Fisher of Men Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I'm with you there, Glenn. As much as I would like for the Giants to win, I don't think they will. Then again, I thought the Pack would beat them last night. :'( Not to take anything away from the Pats, but I blame Norv Turner for the 'Bolts inefficiencies yesterday. It was quite obvious that Philip Rivers hampered their abilities in the second half. I had to agree with everyone but Phil Simms yesterday when they suggested that Norv put in the back-up in the second half. The guy couldn't even hardly move. I do believe that of recent, if a team can put together a complete game against the Pats (like the Giants did last night), they CAN be beat. Two weeks and we'll know. Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 21, 2008 Super User Posted January 21, 2008 LMAO, you "Spygate" people need to get some new dirt on the Pats. It has gotten old, that game was 17 WINS ago. So who here would acctually not support their favorite team if they were 18-0 heading into the Superbowl but were caught cheating the FIRST game of the year? And if you say you wouldn't you are full of it. : Anyway, Pats need to step it up. In the second half of the season they have not played as well as the first. If they play like they did against the Giants last time, they will get beat this time. They have been a little lucky. Quote
Masshole Mike Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 19-0 here we come. i hate to say the giants don't stand a chance against the pats, but... well, they don't stand a chance against the pats. ;D Quote

Yep....pats fans are already getting cocky....35-38 was the score against NY last game....That's too close for comfort, nobody should allow NY to get 35 points. ;D This year sports has been surprising,Underdogs have been winning all year this seasons(07'-08'). Masshole Mike Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 there's a fine line between "cocky" and "confident", my friend. Quote

They were told last year, "warned last year hy the commish" to quit cheating, so its not just one game, it was going on for awhile. By the way, no one is gonna let the cheaters off that easily!!!! The cheated, now its time to let them hear about it on all the blogs out there. LMAO, trying to sweep it under the rug!!!!!LOL Whats sad is, they have the talent, they don't need to cheat!!!!! Quote

Masshole Mike Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Whats sad is, they have the talent, they don't need to cheat!!!!! which has been illustrated by their last 17 straight wins. that's STRAIGHT wins. as in "unbeaten". Quote
llPa1nll Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Oh I knew this was going to be coming back up again and making the rounds, Cheating/Spygate. Well they were caught 7 mins into the 1st game of the season taping the defensive play calling coach, fact. Now if you Patriots haters think that they won that game clearly by cheating, I think your sadly mistaken. Anyway Patriots vs Giants in the SB. Do I think that it will be a close game, you bet. The Patriots came back from being down by 2 scores late in the game to win by a FG. I would also like to hear how spygate has any relevance on the SB? Why? Cause it doesnt have any, period. Quote
Troutfisher Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Who is to say they haven't stopped using cameras and haven't gotten caught? How many games before that were they using cameras without anyone knowing? Quote
Masshole Mike Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 who's to say they have? speculate all you want, we'll keep letting our record do the talking. Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 21, 2008 Super User Posted January 21, 2008 Who is to say they haven't stopped using cameras and haven't gotten caught? How many games before that were they using cameras without anyone knowing? Innocent until proven guilty, again. Quote
llPa1nll Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Who is to say they haven't stopped using cameras and haven't gotten caught? How many games before that were they using cameras without anyone knowing? As for this year youd be a fool to think that they would do that again after the fine they got was handed down. As for las year here is a snippet of the rules regarding videotaping from the NFL rule book. Here are some of the league's rules regarding videotaping procedures: # In the NFL's operations manual, it states that "no video recording devices of any kind are permitted to be in use in the coaches' booth, on the field, or in the locker room during the game." Furthermore, all video shooting locations for coaching purposes "must be enclosed on all sides with a roof overhead." # In a memo to NFL head coaches and general managers on Sept. 6, 2006, NFL executive vice president of football operations Ray Anderson wrote: "Videotaping of any type, including but not limited to taping of an opponent's offensive or defensive signals, is prohibited on the sidelines, in the coaches' booth, in the locker room, or at any other locations accessible to club staff members during the game." # In the league's Constitution & Bylaws, it reads: "Any use by any club at any time, from the start to the finish of any game in which such club is a participant, of any communications or information-gathering equipment, other than Polaroid-type cameras or field telephones, shall be prohibited, including without limitation videotape machines, telephone tapping, or bugging devices, or any other form of electronic devices that might aid a team during the playing of a game."
