Super User skunked_again Posted January 23, 2008 Super User Posted January 23, 2008 last night i got to re-format my computer (not by my own choice) and now that i have everything re-installed and all the up-dates done the disk drive will not read blank disks. this is odd to me since the same drive reads data disks as well and music disks. any ideas? Super User Long Mike Posted January 23, 2008 Super User Posted January 23, 2008 Well, I'm no computer geek by any means, but if your disk is blank, what would you expect the computer to read from the disk? :-/ Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 23, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 23, 2008 What kind of drive? CD-Rom, ScanDisk, Memory Stick, etc. Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted January 23, 2008 Author Super User Posted January 23, 2008 its the CD-ROM, and what i mean by not reading the blank disk, when i put a blank disk in the drive the CD-ROM doesnt know theres a cd in there. after messing with the thing im wondering if some part of the disk drive has not failed.....or the unit doesnt know its a writable unit.
