Super User Sam Posted January 12, 2008 Super User Posted January 12, 2008 LBH, You are on the road with your career so you see a lot of stuff and you are totally right about planning ahead. On I-95 between Richmond and Washington, DC, drivers go 80 in the hammer lane, then swerve over to hit the off ramp by crossing two lanes of traffic. Talk about dumb and dangerous. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 To be more specific, I train UPS drivers. One KEY thing that we can't stress enough is defensive driving. Of course, there is the safety point of view, first and foremost, but as a multi-billion $$ company, we need to impress in or drivers the fact that we are one big target for people who commit insurance fraud. We take defensive driving to a different level. Those guys swerving over usually use the UPS truck as a cut point. People take advantage of the fact that they know we will slow or stop if needed to avoid the accident and that they have a good chance of not catching "road rage" from a UPS driver. It's a screwy world sometimes.... Quote
Super User Alpster Posted January 12, 2008 Super User Posted January 12, 2008 Use the proper lanes! Right lane- Exiting and entering traffic middle lane- Travel lane Left lane- Passing Lane This must be regional, here in NJ it's like this..... Entrance ramps are where you stop to look at traffic or make a phone call. Right lane is the fast lane (much easier to pass on that side). Middle lane is where teens and yuppies position themselves for aggressive driving practice. The left lane is reserved for those over 70 years old who can't see over the dash board and can only drive 40-45 mph confidently. It's definitely different here in Jersey. ;D ;D Quote
Branuss04 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 There is one thing that has been grinding my gears lately. All of the "Basstrix" that are littering the ebay.com swimbait search page. Until this phase is over, i'm having to search through 7 pages of swimbaits and 6 pages of them are basstrix. Ahhhhh. > Quote

I haven't seen it but I've heard a lot of stories about Mass's drivers. They will pull out in front of you no matter what speed forsing you take jam on the brakes. That is just plain nuts! Quote
Super User Root beer Posted January 13, 2008 Super User Posted January 13, 2008 What gets my nugget roasted is last night while clearing out the lot at k-mart I was bringing in all the carts in putting them up in their proper place. Well a guy was parked next to the ramp I have to push the carts up the ramp and it is a fire lane which is illegal to park. He just sat there waiting for his wife to come out. Everytime I pushed the carts up the ramp he just stares down making sure I dont hit his truck. I'm like get the @#% out the way! Then another guy pulls in going 80 MPH and parked on other side of the ramp and gets out of his truck lock his truck goes into the store. BTW this was taken place at 10 min till closing time. They blocked out my ramp eventually and I barely missed their truck. One guy looked at me and I said "what?" and he just turns around. Then i go back into store like I'm ready to whoop some arse and the guy that owns the fancy truck was looking at me and I shook my head in disapproval at him. P.S. Next time this happen one of my carts will hit the bumper of a their fancy vehicle. They'll learn their lesson the hard way. You dont park in front of the ramp nor in a fire lane by a store while I'm clearing out the lot. Nor you parked in the fire lane at any given time during store hours. Quote
