Fisher of Men Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 SEC is the best conference in College football. Exactly why ALL Big 12 fans ALWAYS root for the "other guys"! So, if OSU wins is Kansas #2 or is it THE University of Missouri Tigers? : 8-) I say Mizzou. They got shafted by the BCS and OU embarassed the Big 12. Give them #2 as a consolation prize. Quote

OSU 27- LSU 17 Quote

It just gets so old to hear how great the SEC is all year long. Sure the SEC is probably the best conference this year and I don't think anybody would doubt that. They are just not head and shoulders above the rest of the country like most SEC people would lead you to believe IMO. Quote

OU didn't embarrass anybody. They simply got beat by a better team. KANSAS should be no 2 Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted January 8, 2008 Author Super User Posted January 8, 2008 THE "attended" are the guys that say XYZ High School. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 8, 2008 Super User Posted January 8, 2008 As a Big XII supporter, i don't think KU earns the right to be Number #2. One quality win was VT. They didn't really beat anyone to be top ten in the first place. No one else wanted to be in top 20 either. how many years do you see that many ranked teams fall, once? Twice? Weird year this year. BUCKEYEone Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Right now I'd trade beckman for a new coffee maker. I dont really like coffee Quote
Cajun1977 Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 ;D ;D ;D ;Dwonder if USC wants to claim this one too ;D ;D Quote

The Unabasser Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 SEC owns Ohio State & the Big10 oh jeez...not that i was pulling for OSU but really...we'll see down the road Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 8, 2008 Author Super User Posted January 8, 2008 ;D ;D CONGRATULATIONS! ;D ;D LSU made a statement last night. They left no question unanswered. LSU is the #1 College Football Team in the nation. SALUTE! 8-) Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted January 8, 2008 Super User Posted January 8, 2008 As you can see by my signature I am not an LSU fan. I am however, a fan of great football. It is played in the SEC. Last night should prove it without a doubt. I stand by my point made several days ago in that if OSU had played LSU's scheldule they would have been a 3-4 loss team. Congratulations LSU. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 8, 2008 Super User Posted January 8, 2008 First off, Congrats to LSU fans. I would rank LSU at NUMBER #6, I'd leave 1-5 open, as I don't see a clear champ this season. Lots of two loss teams that didn't get a shot!!! One loss, okay, it happens, two losses and theres no excuses. I will say when the smoke cleared, LSU played a tougher schedule and earned the right to be there. Michigan just ripped the SEC and they got beat by Appy state, who don't come close to 80 scholarships, so they shouldn't have ever made it close to begin with, but they did better than that, they beat Michigan who just happen to beat the defending National champs and Heisman Trophy winner, which is the best player in college. I'd holdoff on the SEC great accalades. The best the SEC can offer is two losses, as most. One of the weirdest years I can remember. Matt Quote
Super User burleytog Posted January 8, 2008 Super User Posted January 8, 2008 Michigan ripped the $EC? :-? Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted January 9, 2008 Super User Posted January 9, 2008 What did yall think of the pregame "Forrest Gump" skit that Dorsey did? ;D ;D ;D Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 9, 2008 Super User Posted January 9, 2008 OSU is touted as one of the greatest college football programs in history and yet they are 0-9 in BCS Bowl Games against the SEC. The purposively #1 defense in every category was man handled, outside of one Beanie Wells run and an interception the #1 offense could not muster more than a field goal. The SEC went 7-2 in the bowl games, shut down the Cinderella Hawaii team, started the year with 6 teams ranked in the top 25 and finished the year with 5 teams ranked in the top 25. FYI: BCS Bowl wins and appearances by conference ACC: 1-9 Big 12: 6-8 Big East: 6-4 Big Ten: 8-8 PAC-10: 8-4 SEC: 11-4 BCS Bowl wins and appearances by team USC: 5-1 Ohio State: 4-2 Oklahoma: 2-4 LSU: 4-0 & 2 national championships As for LSU having 2 losses look at their wins, they have more wins verses top 25 opponents than anyone in the nation period. BUCKEYEone Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 LSU played well, but not so amazingly well that I was overly-impressed. The bottom line out of this championship game is that OSU beat themselves. OSU fans didnt expect a championship year, we were hoping for a Rose Bowl run, nothing more. We knew Beckman was hit or miss, and we had a lot of guys who just lost focus after the blocked field goal. Definitely Congrats to LSU, but I think we all know that this year was one where a championship game didnt even need to be played, nobody was SUPERB this year. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 9, 2008 Super User Posted January 9, 2008 I'm not gonna go over who beat who, but if you look at the heads up play between Florida and Michigan. Both 4 loses, and Michigan whooped the snot out of florida, and consider Michigans 4 fumbles to begin with, and still dominated the defending national champs and the best player in college football. AND WAS STILL RANKED 4 SPOTS LOWER THAN FLORIDA. if that don't show the east coast bias in the voting system. Head to head and they beat Florida and still get placed behing them Both teams are 9-4, along way from perfection. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 9, 2008 Super User Posted January 9, 2008 Any body hear the news, Somebody said they are sick of the BCS, didn't catch all the name. Adams was the last name I heard on the radio last night. Something about a 8 team playoff over 3 weeks with 7 games and the normal 4 BCS games would be quarterfinals? Any body else hear this. Quote
