Super User Hookemdown. Posted January 3, 2008 Super User Posted January 3, 2008 Final WVU - 48 OU - 28 I would like take a moment to tell everyone how the mighty and indestructible Sooners from Oklahoma just got outplayed by the little known West Virginia Mountaineers. WV played solid D throughout the game, and ran the ball very succsessfuly (300+ yards) Bob Stoops' agressive playcalling bit him in the arse on this one. Ladies and Gentlemen, I now present to you your 2008 Fiesta Bowl Champions----the University of West Virginia Mountaineers! Oops! Wrong pic ;D Quote
Super User burleytog Posted January 3, 2008 Super User Posted January 3, 2008 Little known? TF, I don't know the conditions of the bet, but I wouldn't take that... Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted January 3, 2008 Super User Posted January 3, 2008 I honestly thought it would be a lot closer game with WV playing catch-up with OU. I'm glad for all the seniors to go out on a positive note. BTW, can I have that avatar when you're finished with it? Quote
Troutfisher Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Well, "West, by God, Virginia", here's how you SHOULD have started the post. As predicted all along by Troutfisher, WVU, AGAINST ALL ODDS, blew through the stadium and crushed Oklahoma University, who defeated the #1 team in the nation, Missouri, twice. Oklahoma's game never started. WVU's solid defense couldn't be stopped, and our offense? Don't even get me started. Something like that 8-) Quote
Troutfisher Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Oh, and give the avatar to Jimzee when you're done with it. (I believe the length of the bet was one week.) Quote
John J. Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Yep WV won it! Even though I've never seen so many penalties in one single game!! :o :o Quote
Troutfisher Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Same here, there were like 225 yards of combined penalties. There were plays that shouldn't have been penalized and HOLDING calls on OU that should have been called. Quote

Troutfisher Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 That reminds me, which Bowl Championship Series game did Pitt get? Oh, none? Well, at least they got a regular bowl game. Oh, they didn't? Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 3, 2008 Super User Posted January 3, 2008 Dont worry hookem. You will have revenge, because the Steelers will be out of the playoffs by Monday Quote
Troutfisher Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Hey, I would rather the Mountaineers hang their head high than the Steelers. Because we already have 5 Super Bowl victories, our fingers can't handle any more Super Bowl rings. Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 That reminds me, which Bowl Championship Series game did Pitt get? Oh, none? Well, at least they got a regular bowl game. Oh, they didn't? If you're not in the BCS Championship Bowl, then you might as well be in the Via.gra Erection Bowl. I also don't understand why Division 1 college football doesn't have a playoff system (every other Division of college football has playoffs). These bowl games are stupid. WVU could probably be good enough to win the Championship, but because of that loss to PITT, was never given an oppurtunity to prove it. These idiotic bowls are the main reason I am not a fan of college football. Now college basketball on the other hand, nothing is better then March Madness. Quote

Ya the amount of bowls are a little crazy and they do need a playoff system. Too bad they couldnt have a March Madness type system. : Quote

jeremyt Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 BY God, I am not going to talk anymore trash, you made your pic talked your smack ( in good fun) then took your medicine. What goes around comes around. I will say that my Chargers are going to kill the Tootins this Sunday. I will lay it all out on the line and let you pick me a screen name if they lose. Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 4, 2008 Super User Posted January 4, 2008 No matter who you wanted to win it was a very entertaining game. I hope the Orange Bowl is just as entertaining. To see the WVU team and its bright future makes me wonder went on behind the scense to have RR abruptly leave. for a down program that needs some rebuilding. With LSU healthy and Ohio State still stinging from the BCS game last year against Florida, both teams have something to prove so the Monday night contest should be hard hitting. Then, its all over until August. :'( Quote
