jdw174 Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Is there any way to adjust focus? When I zoom in on my home, everything is just a blur and the image is terrible. I can't find anything that would allow me to adjust this. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 maybe your screen resolution? Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted December 31, 2007 Super User Posted December 31, 2007 Might be your memory. I tried it on an older computer and it did the same thing. When I loaded on my new one with high speed everything cleared up... Quote

Super User Hookemdown. Posted December 31, 2007 Super User Posted December 31, 2007 You can only zoom in so far in certain places. You can see people walking around on the streets in NY, but if you try to get that close in rural areas, all you get is a blur. Quote
bassboy1 Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Have you tried using mapquest? Plug in your address, and it will come to a map. Then, at the top right of the map, it will have an option for aerial image. Sometimes, I have found that it works better for the rural areas, than Google earth does. Quote
slomoe Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Most likely because there is no close up satellite image that has been taken yet by google. I would try others that people have suggested like mapquest and microsofts live local maps. The general rule is they image the cities up close first then move out to the suburbs and more rural areas. Super User Long Mike Posted January 1, 2008 Super User Posted January 1, 2008 I agree with slomoe. It just depends on where the "powers that be" have decided to publish hi-res satellite images. I live in Tulsa, and the images are hi-res. I can clearly see my truck in the driveway. If I pan twenty miles to the west, the resolution is so poor it's almost useless. Quote

If you look just east to KY lake the resolution quality improves. If just depends on where you live. Usually, rural areas don't get the high resolution imagery unless there's some sort of area of interest around you like a volcano or a field full of crop circles. Quote
