rondef Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 The Patriots are 16-0 and are in the record books. Tom Brady set the touchdown record 50 TDs, Randy Moss set the TD reciever record 23 TDs, the Pats scored the most points in a season and the most touchdowns in a season. What a team they will go down in history as the greatest team of all time when they win the Superbowl. Go Pats!!!! Quote
Super User Tin Posted December 30, 2007 Super User Posted December 30, 2007 Once again, after a big Patriots win. Robert Craft is absolutley "gone" shall we say for lack of a better word in a post game interview. He was stumbling over words, would just stop talking for a few seconds and look like he was really confused, and made a complete ______ of himself. I could not believe it, and I'm a die hard Pat's fan. I mean come on, you didn't know you were going to be on TV or going to be interviewed after the game? : Quote
crazy4bass1 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 pats fan here this is truley awsome that they have acheived this mark now go win another superbowl Quote
John J. Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 No doubt Pats won that one, but Giants gave it all they had and the game came really close! It was a great game! Quote

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted December 31, 2007 Super User Posted December 31, 2007 I would absolutely LOVE to see the Pats lay an egg in the postseason......don't see it happening, but would love to see it anyways. I can picture the look on Hoodie's, Jim Rome's name for Belichick, face now. ;D Quote
crazy4bass1 Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 i hate it when people bash the pats for the hole spygate scandel i think everyone is just jealous of how good the pats rly are they cant and wont be stopped mangini was just being a baby cus they got ther @$$es wooped by the pats i garitee that if u looked at all the teams in the nfl as closely as the did the patriots, then you would find similar infractions in almost all of the teams Quote
Fish Man Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 cant be stopped??? but sorry ask the the Ravens who (i hate saying this word) SHOULD have won the game but the pats got lucky and somhow got a W. they are very good but just remember that "any team can win on any given sunday" also Randy moss is a good player also but has earned nothing as far as i am concerned with this record, techniqually he didnt break any record because Rice did it in 14 games while moss had 16 Quote

Coulda, woulda, shoulda doesn't count. The tally records "wins" and "losses", not what might have been. "If they hadn't run out of time and had scored more points, they would have won!" I'm not a Pats fan, but if they run the table, I would call this group "THE GREATEST FOOTBALL TEAM IN HISTORY". And btw, "technically" Moss IS the record holder for most touchdown receptions in an NFL SEASON. (Brady also broke the all-time record for touchdown passes). 8-) Quote
Super User Tin Posted December 31, 2007 Super User Posted December 31, 2007 No matter what, it will be a tough game for either the Steelers/Chargers/Jacksonville to come into Foxboro in January.I think Jacksonville is a very under rated team that could surprise either the Pats or Indy. As for the Steelers or Chargers, I think they are both very over rated. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted December 31, 2007 Super User Posted December 31, 2007 I am big Colts fan, so you can only guess how I feel about the Pats. They do have a great team though but as a football nut I notice a lot of BS on the field and the Pats. do deserve that *. The sad things is they are good enough not resort to the stuff they do. I don't feel sorry for the teams they beat but I do feel for the 1972 Dolphins (not a Dolphin fan either). My hope is that they will get Ed Hockley for a Ref. and good, fast exit out of the post season. ;D Quote
Jake. Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 As for the Steelers or Chargers, I think they are both very over rated. How are the Chargers overated if NOBODY but the Chargers fans are talking about them? :-? They are reallly flying under the radar this year. It's all Patriots, Patriots, Patriots. On the other hand, the Steelers have really started sliding in the wrong direction as of late. Quote
Super User Tin Posted December 31, 2007 Super User Posted December 31, 2007 Ok I take that back Jake, it is just that every year the Chargers go 14-2, or 12-4, but when they need to win in the post season they just cannot get it done. They seem like a different team when January comes around, imo. Quote

Fish Man Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 the patriots are very good but my point is that no team is unbeatable, but as far as Moss breaking the record, he had 2 extra games to break it and if im not mistken only broke it by 1 or 2 touchdowns, if you gave rice the kind of offence the patriots have and 2 extra games i garuntee he would have done beter and scored more td's Quote

The Patriots have their short comings as any team does. The thing is that in the end they have so far managed to overcome those short comings and continued to win. Yes Jerry Rice had that record in a strike shortened 14 week schedule. The end story is that Randy Moss did catch 23 TD passes passing Rice's mark by 1. Could have, should have, and maybes dont count Rice has 22, Moss hold the record at 23, end of story. Quote
