Nacogdoches Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 :)I was wondering if there is software that allows you to enter in factors such as water clarity, depth, temperature, time of year, barometric pressure etc... that will, in turn, calculate helpful information such as this example... You type in; Season: Summer Temp: 100 degrees Water Temp: 80 degrees Water Clarity: Clear Barometric Pressure: 30.00" etc... Weather: Cloudy It Calculates and Tells You; Lure Retrieve: Slow Lure Color: Watermelon Lure Type: Soft Plastic Worm, Tube, Jig, etc... Fish Location: Weed beds, deeper structure etc... Do you see what I'm saying? I'm not a beginner but software like this could be really fun and educational. So does it exist? Quote
JerseyBassin Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 dont' know, but if there isn't it sounds like a good program to make. if i was still a computer science major i'd look into making it, but writing programs is such time consuming and tedious work. Quote
Popeye Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I don't know if a software program exists that will do what you want BUT I do know that a SOURCE for that information currently exists! You're reading it right now: the Bass Resource Forums! ) BTW: WELCOME to the BR Forums - the BEST bass fishing site on the Net, IMO!!! Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 It would be cool, but how would you make it portable? Quote
Super User senile1 Posted May 16, 2008 Super User Posted May 16, 2008 I have seen this advertised for awhile and they now have it in a program that you can load on your PC. I personally think experienced anglers can determine most of this on their own so I've never purchased it but it might be useful to some people. Then, again, who knows. I've never read a review on it. http://bassresearch.com/bass_fishing_matrix.html Quote
Super User senile1 Posted May 16, 2008 Super User Posted May 16, 2008 Do a search on Bass Fishing Matrix over the last year. There are a few threads about it. I haven't seen anyone rave about it. Quote
Super User David P Posted May 16, 2008 Super User Posted May 16, 2008 There is a thing that BPS sells that helps decide what color to throw. as for speed, bait, and that stuff, I don't think anything except for the fish can tell you that. I've had identical back to back days, water temp, conditions, over cast, etc, and two TOTALLY different presentations worked when the other did not. Quote
