UFC 79 Nemesis this Saturday night

This PPV should be a whole lot better than the last few. I've been waiting on Liddell vs. Silva for a long time. As it sits now, this one's a toss up. I cant even pick a favorite here. Both guys coming off 2 fight losing streaks and this fight could make or break either guy. I think if it goes to the mat, Silva will win but if he tries to stand with Chuck, he may end up eating one of those nasty right hands. The longer the fight goes, the better off Silva will be.

GSP vs. Hughes III.....each guy has one once, this should be a dynamite match-up. You know Hughes wants revenge after GSP straight up whipped him in their last fight and made him look like a chump. GSP is trying to get back on track so he can fight Serra this spring and win back the title. My prediction is Hughes, 2nd round submission.

5bl, I am with you-hard to pick a winner/favorite in the Liddell/Silva fight. I am pulling for Chuck but I think Silva has the advantage.

Tough call in the Hughes/GSP fight as well. IMO, GSP has the edge. I think he is a young guy with a long future in the sport....I see him getting the belt back from Serra.

I think Silva wins the fight against the Iceman.  As much as I hate to say it Chuck has looked washed up his last couple of fights.  I think he has over extended himself outside the ring, and all his years of partying etc have caught up to him.  I wouldn't be shocked if Silva ends it in the second.

As for the Hughes vs GSP fight, my heart really want Hughes to win so  he can get a shot at Serra after all the smack Serra talked on Ultimate Fighter.   I think Hughes will get it done this time, probably on a decision.

I am super excited for this ppv.   Now if they could just somehow get Fedor.

Did you see josh koshcheck a world class wrestler thats was beat at his own games by gsp. That matt serra fight was something else i was just the first left to the face and the fight was over.

I will have to go with IceMan Liddell & Hughes. But we will see!

Well, UFC 79 is in the books.

Liddell vs Silva was a 3 round slugfest. Silva has a ton of heart and an iron chin to go along with it. He repeatedly took shots from Liddell and Chuck just couldn't drop him. Cut him up pretty good but they went the distance......Chuck even took Silva down a couple of times if you can believe that.    Liddell won a unanimous decision.

Hughes vs GSP III went exactly the opposite way than I figured it would. GSP dominated Hughes standing up and on the ground. He was relentless. He stuffed every takedown attempt Hughes tried and was able to take Hughes down pretty much whenever he wanted to. Hughes didn't look good at all, GSP was razor sharp and submitted Hughes in the 2nd round with an armbar. Hughes says he isn't sure if he'll fight again or not. I was really hoping to see Hughes vs Serra one day.....thanks alot GSP for ruining my plan.  ;D

yeah silva took a beating, have to give him credit for that...as far a GSP and hughes....went how i figured it would....actually i thought GSP would knock him out or just ground and pound him or something with strikes until the ref stopped it...but i had him to win all the way, and i predict the same for GSP vs Serra.  was some good fights!

i had picked chuck to win ..... the olny reason why is due to the pride fighters all having bad openers in the UFC ,,,, well excpt rampage he won but it wasnt pritty ..... i do see chuck and silva fighting again ,,, in the next match up i believe wanderlay will win .....

as for GSP he is the man .... i expect serra to retire before he ever faces GSP ..... i also execpt hues to retire as well ..... i think we all know serras win over gsp was luck to say the least ....  serra doesnt want to see hues or gsp again ...... i believe GSP is a huge road bump in that weight class .... who will be able to deal with GSP ????  i dont see any one giving GSP a good fight not even KOS ... imo hes the next best fighter in that weight class .....
