Super User Catt Posted December 29, 2007 Super User Posted December 29, 2007 Should LSU win, they will have conquered a loaded schedule of the top Sagarin Ratings Teams (his most current standings below).. #2 OSU #4 Florida #5 Virginia Tech #17 Tenn #19 Auburn #23 Kentucky #24 Arkansas #37 South Carolina #41 Alabama If LSU wins the BCS-CG, there will be zero doubt the title was earned. Super User 5bass Posted December 29, 2007 Super User Posted December 29, 2007 No matter what Sagarin or anybody else has.....no 2 loss team should play for the National Championship. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted December 29, 2007 Super User Posted December 29, 2007 No matter what Sagarin or anybody else has.....no 2 loss team should play for the National Championship. Even if they are the best team in the nation? Who's better? Quote
Fish Man Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 No matter what Sagarin or anybody else has.....no 2 loss team should play for the National Championship. Even if they are the best team in the nation? Who's better? Oklahoma!! ;D Quote
Cajun1977 Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 no matter what theres gonna be someone who isnt happy, so what they have 2 losses who should it be then?its not about how many losses you have its when you lose. theres never been a sophmore win the heisman and guess what it happened. Im surprised people hate on LSU more than they hate on ohio state who flat out plays a panzy schedule each year. Quote

Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted December 29, 2007 Super User Posted December 29, 2007 I agree with Fivebasslimit, no two loss team should play for the National Championship. I really don't think it matters, because I think Ohio State will win. Falcon Quote
Big T Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Or the money machine, aka College Football, could settle this on the feild with a playoff sytem with the top ten teams playing intstead of having a month off to debate who really is the best. Big T Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted December 29, 2007 Super User Posted December 29, 2007 LSU's two loss team is better than any of the one loss teams. Ohio State will find this out very soon. It will be a repeat of last year, only maybe worse. They have listened to just about all they want to hear and will take it out on them. If Ohio State had played the same scheldule that LSU played they would be a 3-4 loss team. Quote
Troutfisher Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 No matter what Sagarin or anybody else has.....no 2 loss team should play for the National Championship. Even if they are the best team in the nation? Who's better? Oklahoma!! ;D WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA! I think you mean West Virginia. I'm telling you, we will beat down the Sooners, even without Rich Fraudriguez and his gang of phonies. Quote
Cajun1977 Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 its funny how the ones crying about a two loss team being in the title game wont say another team that should be in it ;Dand before anyone hops all over hawaii's nuts ,let them play a few games on their schedule before they get in the mix..If joe blo university started the year ranked 120th and played a bunch of nobodys and went undefeated would they deserve to be in the title game? fact is if you wanna play with the big dogs then go get yourself a big dog schedule and stop hating cause you cant hang Quote
Fish Man Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 haha i guess we will find out on the second wont we troutfisher lol ;D Quote
Cajun1977 Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 just noticed its a virginia tech and michigan fan hating ...yep no need for them to be jealous maybe next year boys ;D ;D Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted December 29, 2007 Super User Posted December 29, 2007 I cannot recall anyone beating down the sooners this year. Now I am not an LSU fan at all, but I remember them laying the wood to a Virginia team earlier this year(Or maybe that was a beat down). Quote
Fish Man Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 IMO the sooners should be playing LSU for the championship. OSU isnt anything this year and had an easy schedule.....but o well i guess we got next year Quote
Big T Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 I'm not scared to give a two loss team. USC Trojans, yea we lost to Stanford but accidents happen. They are playing as well as anyone right now. Also Georgia, they are hot right now too. The BCS is flawed, it does not work . This season proved that. The only way to settle the debate is to have a 10 team playoff, using the various BCS bowl sites. Otherwise there is going to alway be this deabte year after year. Big T Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 29, 2007 Super User Posted December 29, 2007 Yes, the Fighting Tigers backed into the BCS Championship Game. Isn't life wonderful? ;D Quote

Super User Hookemdown. Posted December 29, 2007 Super User Posted December 29, 2007 LSU lost both of their games in OT, one by 7pts and the other by 2, both losses to reputable teams. OSU hasn't proved themselves yet imo. I was really wanting to see a OU/LSU matchup again. IMO the sooners should be playing LSU for the championship. OSU isn't anything this year and had an easy schedule.....but o well i guess we got next year I like this guy ;D. OU should be a force to be reckoned with next year. Bradford is on path to be a GREAT QB. Trout, we got you outnumbered now. You might as well stay off the forums for a few weeks to regroup. Quote
Troutfisher Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 That's ok, me and Jimzee can hold our own. We know who will truly be the victors on the Jan. 2 beat down of the Sooners! Even though our coach is a scaredy cat who fled to Michigan when he couldn't handle the pressure! Quote
Big T Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Blame the Pac 10 and the Big 10 for the lack of conference championships, not USC or Ohio State. And yes,Georgia should have won thier division. This is why college basketball is better than college football. You do not get penalized for one slip up. Also why we are talking about teams not winning their conference or division it could be argued that Kansas does not belong in the Orange Bowl. I remember them losing to some other Tigers at the end of the season. Put Mizzou in that game instead of being stuck in the Cotton Bowl. Big T Quote
Super User 5bass Posted December 30, 2007 Super User Posted December 30, 2007 LSU lost both of their games in OT, one by 7pts and the other by 2, both losses to reputable teams. Reputable teams? ;D : And who cares if they lost in overtime.....that only means LSU had extra time to win the game but couldn't get the job done. Any way you look at it 2 losses is 2 losses. And yeah, I have a little grudge against LSU, no big secret there. That still doesn't change the fact that LSU still got beat 2 times. As far as naming a team that should be there instead of LSU, I cant do it. This season has been so screwed up, there is no clear National Champion in my mind, no matter who wins the so-called "title" game. And cajun977, why does Hawaii even play NCAA football if they are always eligible to be ranked in the "BCS" rankings, then go undefeated and be left out of the title game? That right there represents one BIG FLAW of the BCS (Big Crock of S***) Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted December 30, 2007 Super User Posted December 30, 2007 That's ok, me and Jimzee can hold our own. We know who will truly be the victors on the Jan. 2 beat down of the Sooners! Even though our coach is a scaredy cat who fled to Michigan when he couldn't handle the pressure! I hope you're right Troutfisher, I also hope their heads are in the game unlike the Pitt game. Oklahoma looked pretty tough when they played Mizzou. My feelings for Fraudriguez are not to be viewed in the public eye on this forum. (Bastage!!) > Quote
Super User Catt Posted December 30, 2007 Author Super User Posted December 30, 2007 Fivebass name me one team who has beaten a better schedule? Final BCS ranked wins: #3 Virginia Tech, #12 Florida, #16 Tennessee, & #23 Auburn #3 through #7 & #9 all has 2 losses #3 Virginia Tech lost to LSU #4 Oklahoma beat #6 Missouri twice & #19 Texas #5 Georgia lost to South Carolina & Tennessee both of whom LSU beat; their only top 25 win was over #23 Auburn. Plus the did not win their division or conference #6 Missouri beat #8 Kansas & #13 Illinois #7 USC only beat one top 25 ranked team #11 Arizona State #8 Kansas lost to its only top 25 ranked team #9 West Virginia only beat one top 25 team #22 Cincinnati #10 Hawaii is not a BCS Team Quote
Super User Dan: Posted December 30, 2007 Super User Posted December 30, 2007 I don't see the point of trying to determine a reasonable championship game with the crazy way this season went. With so many upsets every week, it's very, very difficult to make a solid argument for one team over another. It's just what happens when you have a crazy season in an equally crazy system. Quote
