I mean the 24 hour marathon of A Christmas Story on TBS. And my family likes to watch it for almost all of those 24 hours. A leg lamp and a pink bunny suit are only funny so many times.

I watched that movie soooo many times in passed years I made my wife promise she wouldn't turn it on this year. It was a big enough problem watching the commercials for it.

Thank goodness my little grandson insisted on watching Blues Clues when his father turned The Christmas Story on yesterday.  I think the room would have emptied except for my son-in-law if we had to be exposed to it one more time.

I love that movie.

But then again, I am also the only person I know who has seen Smokey and The Bandit, more than 30 times, AND IT IS STILL MY FAVORITE MOVIE!

I'm with ya on that bassboy1. But I like Dukes of Hazzard better than Smokey and the Bandit, but I still like it. I hate the radio stations that switch from the good music to play Christmas music for a month. >:(

Believe it or not, but I missed it.  We were talking about it the other night and I realized that my 9 year old daughter hadn't seen it.  I think we'll rent it next week.  Classic movie!

Believe it or not I've never watched it!   ;D

My brother was watching it the other day, and he couldn't believe I've never sat down to watch it.  All I know about the movie is that there is something about a secret decoder and a Red Rider BB gun.

Its a good Christmas movie, but I think Christmas Vacation is better.

I actually got a new Red Ryder for Christmas!  ;D  (and it's one of my favorite gifts)

I wore out my other one chasing cats out of the yard/flowerbeds.  Anything more powerful and it will penetrate... I just hit them in the hind quarters... the RR just stings and sends them running.  They stay away for a few days and then come back.... short memory.  ...lol

Did you all see the interview with the lady who played the daughter?

She is 61 now; has seen the movie about 400 times; got married; husband got killed and left her with two children; son committed suicide at age 18; she remarried and husband died a few years ago.

It is always interesting to see how the actors progressed after their claim to fame.

Personally, I have seen the movie enough times so I don't have to see it again.

And my wife is from Indiana,Penna., the home of Jimmy Stewart. Her folks used to go to the Stewart's pharmacy and they knew Jimmy when he was a kid.

There is a stuffed statue of him in front of the new courthouse and a very good museum in downtown Indiana.

Go see it when you can.

no doubt it's a classic, but i agree, it does get quite old. I just love some of the lines though.
