bassnleo Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 First my overhead garage door breaks.......One of the tension cables broke and the friggin door wouldn't go up or down and my wife's car was inside. I had to cut the other tension cable, that was an experience Finally get a friend to help me lift the door, hold it up, pull wife's car out. Gotta call a local overhead garage door tomorrow to see if it can be fixed. Next, fire up the snowblower......It snowed almost all night here then it turned to rain this morning. The snow was so heavy and slushy underneath that the blower just kept clogging. Ok, gotta shovel....... Get the shovel, it breaks after about 5 minutes. Drive to 3 stores before I find a decent snow shovel and it was $20 Drive back home and it took me about 3 hours to shovel the heavy snow....Great thing is.......it's snowing again and forecast is for 2-4 more inches tonight > I hate winter..... Super User Gatorbassman Posted December 16, 2007 Super User Posted December 16, 2007 I wore shorts and flipflops all week. It will be in the low 30's for the next few days and I'll have to put pants and socks and shoes on. Man life stinks. : Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 16, 2007 Super User Posted December 16, 2007 I hate snow. But I am from Louisiana where I had snow on the ground only once growing up when I was in the 6th grade. A long, long, long time ago. Sorry to hear about your problems but things will get better and the snow will melt and the lakes and ponds will fill up with water and the fishing will be super this spring. Just be careful and watch out for a heart attack. Shoveling snow is hard and difficult as I have done it a few times in Virginia. Did I say that I hate snow? Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted December 17, 2007 Super User Posted December 17, 2007 yuck when it rains it snows, huh? err wait, that didnt sound right Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted December 17, 2007 Super User Posted December 17, 2007 X2 on the winter hating part. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 17, 2007 Super User Posted December 17, 2007 I like a short winter, especially around Christmas. I hope we get some snow, but this last storm missed my part of Tennessee by a couple of hundred miles. We had snow two years ago. Almost every single house built a snowman. For most kids, this was the first time they had ever seen snow, the only significant accumulation in more than a decade. Quote

Other. Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 My only advise is for you to do a barrel roll. Not sure how this will help you in this situation unless you happen to have a fighter on your 6 ;D (Sorry that was 4chan humor but as a wanna/b/ I felt as I had to say that ^.^ sorry ) Quote

farmpond1 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 This lane is mine, this much I know. But it's buried in 3 feet of snow. My boss won't care if I can't go And I'll be canned, that much is fo' sho'. My better half says, Be a dear And see if you can't dig us clear Between the garage and frozen road The coldest morning of the year I give my snow blower a yank To see if I can make er crank The only other sounds the cuss Words that would make a sailor blush The snow, it's falling heavy and deep But I have a mortgage to keep My boss is an unsympathetic creep My boss is an unsympathetic creep Quote
