Tokyo Tony Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Along the heights issue, I was fishing this lake in Northern CA that's crystal clear. I could see the bottom below me, about 75 feet down. It kind of freaked me out! I had to move the boat to shallower water. ;D That used to freak me out a little too when I would go deep sea fishing out of Miami. Just knowing you're in 1000 feet of water is kind of scary, and when you can see way down into the water in 50 or 60 feet, that's also scary. I just get that little butterfly twitch in my stomach. michbass Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Never useto like to fly but no problem with it now. Now I have an Issue with big Bridges like The Mackinaw or even the Zilwaukee here in Michigan. The Zilwaukee it way to high for what it needs to be, approaching it seems like you are going straight up. I have no clue where my issue with bridges came from as it never bother me before five or so years ago? Just glad I don't live somewhere that has big bridges all over the place. Also Tornado's which I have never gotten over from when I was a kid. Quote

Super User Micro Posted December 14, 2007 Super User Posted December 14, 2007 rattlesnakes I trust these more than most people. confined spaces Now that's scary. Getting locked in a box where I can't move. I can't even think about it. Quote
Fish Man Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 i guess ill add that i am afraid of heights but only in areas i can fall like ledges and things of that nature.the odd thing is that i will trust no one not even my family around me cuz im afriad ill be pushed off, yes its weird but i cant elp but then again my borhter probobly didnt help as a kid when he would do that fake push you off of something but then grab you at the sae time to keep you from falling. wont trust anybody now lol ;D Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted December 14, 2007 Super User Posted December 14, 2007 As previously mentioned, snakes scare the crap out of me. Even little grass snakes make me scream like a little girl, it's pretty emabarrassing. I also have this recurring nightmare that Micheal Meyers from the Halloween movies is trying to kill me. Haunted houses get me too, not the fun ones you go to in October, but real houses with a sketchy past and strange noises, seeing stuff out of the corner of your eye, etc... Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted December 14, 2007 Super User Posted December 14, 2007 Swift water (AKA whitewater rafting on New River 8.5' above normal) - NEVER AGAIN!!! I was terrified! Dinner plate sized Wolf Spiders - This should speak for itself. Heights on narrow roadways like in Colorado. (Jack's Canyon) This probably freaked me out the most, 1500' straight down on a muddy one lane road with no guard rail and sliding all over. Four wheel drive was useless. - NEVER AGAIN!!! Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted December 14, 2007 Super User Posted December 14, 2007 i would like to add Jimzee's avatar to my list... Quote

Super User cart7t Posted December 14, 2007 Super User Posted December 14, 2007 Heights. Especially when I've got nothing to hold onto like when on a ladder and trying to change a light bulb in my foyer 10ft up in the air. I'm going to say clautrophobia too. I never knew I had it till I had to do an MRI. They jammed my head down into foam, then dropped this cage type device over my face. Once that thing was over my face I freaked. I had to get out of their and NOW! Heck, I was only on the table and hadn't even been put into the MRI machine yet!! I have to redo the test but will need to take some valium to get through it. Quote

As I snored, my chest rose and fell to much and messed up the test. Nice nap if I remember correctly. Quote

Jay_G Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Spiders of any size are the spawn of EVIL! Most people talk about snakes getting in the boat, but if I see a spider crawling around, all fishing stops and the smackdown begins. Quote
dave Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 I've heard about crickets in past discussions. I see a lot of spiders in this one. I'm guessing if some of you guys see one of those camel crickets, there might actually be some pants peeing and fainting. Quote

Jay_G Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Is this a joke? Camel spider? If those are real, I will never sleep again! Hope they don't run out of camels. I looked up on the web and found this: THE FACTS 1. Camel spiders top speed - 10 mph. 2. Size: Up to 6 inches 3. They have no venom. 4. They don't jump. 5. Called camel spiders because they live in the desert. They actually aren't spiders at all, they're solpugids.. Along with spiders, they are members of the class Arachnida Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted December 14, 2007 Author Super User Posted December 14, 2007 To me they look like a giant potato bug. AND I HATE THOSE TOO! Quote
